About MITSkills
The MIT Group of Institutions Pune, since its inception in 1983, has
established itself as a group of prime institutions offering education in
varied fields catering to a wide spectrum of population. The group offers
the best education in the faculties of Engineering, Medicine, Management,
Art and Design, Social Sciences, Schools and many more.
Known for its penchant of venturing into new areas of education
envisaging the ever-changing industry needs across the globe, it was a
natural extension for the group to offer the one of its kind course in Piping
Design and Engineering as early as 1994. On similar lines, the CAD CAM
CAE course was launched in 1999 followed by Telecom Systems, Lighting
Technology and the rest, over the course of time. It has been almost two
decades that the roots of MIT Skills, were formed.
Skill development has been one of the strongest arms of the MIT Group of
Institutions and the vision of MITSkills is to help suffice the increasing
need of skilled workforce in industries across all the sectors. MITSkills
anticipates to offer the solution to the crisis of the availability of educated
but unemployable workforce.
MITSkills, will be engaged into imparting high - end technical training at a
postgraduate level (post engineering). These training programs will be in
close acquaintance with industries and with the best universities from
across the globe.

CENTRE FOR
TELECOM SYSTEMS

CENTRE FOR
LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY

Telecom Industry has been growing leaps and bounds in a very

short period. As per industry estimates, there would be a
requirement of 150000 skilled resources in the telecom sector in
India this year alone. There is a huge demand for qualified and
skilled professionals with knowledge and technical know-how in
these fields. While the sector has been one of the largest
employers in the last decade, it would still need around 2, 75,
000 people by 2015. The challenge here would be to get the
right talent. After having an independent institute offering 2 yr
courses in Telecom Management, considering the need of the
industry, it was pragmatic to have short-term courses in Telecom
Systems for students as well as working professionals.

In spite of growth rate in Lighting / LED Sector of 10-13 % in last

5 years, there are hardly any Institutes / Colleges who are
offering courses in this domain. Considering the gap in the
demand and supply of Lighting Professionals, MIT Group took the
initiative and started a unique PGP in Lighting Technology &
Management in the year 2007. If placement is a proof of the
success of the Course, then all students of all batches have been
placed well not only in India but also in the overseas. On
reviewing the need of the Lighting Professionals by interaction
with the Lighting / LED Industry and also with the past students,
MITSkills has come up with a short term course in Lighting.

Mechatronics is a multi-disciplinary field of engineering,

covering mechanical engineering, electronic engineering,
computer engineering, software engineering, control engineering,
and systems design engineering. Beginning with basic mechanics
and electronics, today it is a combination of much more than
that. A Mechatronics Engineer is expected to work across
boundaries of various faculties and blend the best options for a
successful design or product.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Mechatronics

Duration: 6 Months
Eligibility: Graduates with a Bachelor's Degree in engineering or
technology (with minimum 50 percent marks) in
Electrical/Electronics/Communication/ Information
Technology/Computer Science or equivalent.
Contents
Introduction and overview of Mechatronics

With the advent of technology in each and every field of life, the
construction industry has seen its own share of technology
assimilation, thus modernizing and also speeding up the age old
process for building. This has brought about a steep increase in
the requirement of professionals equipped with not just the core
construction process and technicalities, but also able to handle
either parts of a process or the entire project and manage and
supervise the project such that it is completed within stipulated
time frame while maintaining quality and costs. It calls for
subject knowledge as well as polished skills education on the
managing personnel, material, logistics, etc. from start to end
basis.
