The Amazon Rain Forest, a geographical area encompassing the center of South America,
is said to be the most biologically diverse community on Earth. The most intriguing aspect is that
there has not been a real expedition set out with the goal of tracking and observing the rain
forest. Until now. The Weyland Corporation has been known for its scientific contributions to the
world, especially there space program. Though, it should be made aware that when the Weyland
Corporation gets ahold of something involving space, you should expect that they will control
any sort of scientific expedition. This is the story of what happened when Weyland took to the
Amazon.
Does anyone know why we are here today? Samantha Jones calls out. Ms. Jones is the lead
scientific researcher on what is known as Amazonian Horizon, an effort by the Weyland
Corporation to investigate the influence of extra-terrestrial objects on the pre-colonialization
natives. Yes, you, in the green jacket, Mr. Miles correct? asks Ms. Jones. Yes maam, the
answer to your question is to get paid. Miles proclaims humorously. Well for some of us yes,
but for others it is about establishing whether or not we are the only people in this universe and
whether or not we should be worried if we arent. retorts Ms. Jones, Jones has been with
Weyland for fifteen-years as a lead researcher and over the years has participated in more
expeditions than you have appendages. Ms. Jones is not one to take humor very easily, especially
when the development of human kind is at stake, but she has come to terms with the ridiculous
security teams that are required by Weyland on any and all expeditions. Miles decides to try Ms.
Jones once more I dont care what we are doing here, I am just here to make sure some crazy
natives dont try to kill you while collecting your little dirt samples. Though what Miles and
Jones are unaware of is that this expedition much more than they, even Weyland, ever expected.
The base camp of the expedition contains many large, temporary high tech labs all airdropped in
and setup by an advance team. For reasons unknown to the research team led by Jones, Weyland
has invested an out of the ordinary amount of resources and capital into this particular
expedition. Though Jones may have an idea of which she shares with Dr. Sorwin. With
everything going on out there, in the rest of the world, people beginning to think the moon
landing was staged or perhaps the early Weyland space programs are all corporate propaganda, it
comes as to no surprise to me that Weyland wants to show the world the truth about space. Dr.
Sorwin immediately agrees, Ms. Jones I can agree any more with your point, which is the
reason I signed on as the expeditions doctor, I wanted to be a part of something that will change
people, which will change the world. With hesitation Jones responds, But I am afraid of how
the people will react, look at what happened when Weylands first successful manned probe
returned positive results for human sustainability on Globus-213. They took to the streets,
claiming falsities, claiming absurd things like how the government was tricking and testing the
people. Jones was right, how much good would this expedition bring if the people have already
given in to the outrageous atrocities of the blatant disregard for science today. The people now
ignore the facts, the fact that we are not the only living beings in this universe and that sooner or
later they will show up. The people want to believe that nothing will ever hurt us, that nothing
will ever arrive from the skies above us.
