1. Requirements for Cabinet Purchased by Customer from Other Factories
A. Cabinet should be standard 19-inch cabinet, with depth larger than 800 mm and distance
between two mount bars should be 465 mm.

B. Mount bars should be 115 mm far away from the inner side of front door to ensure the
door can be closed after the device is installed with cable rack. If this requirement is not
satisfied, it is suggested to adjust position of installation posts.

4. Install protective grounding cable
IMPORTANT:
1. If the cabinet is designed with dedicated grounding point, first connect it with
the grounding point of the chassis, and then it with grounding bar of the
equipment room. If not, connect the point of the chassis directly to the
grounding bar of the equipment room.
2. For a cabinet standing in the middle of a row of cabinets, it will be difficult to
install protective grounding cable (for there are other cabinets around it) if the
chassis has been already installed. In this case, therefore, first lay the
grounding cables in the cabinet, and then bundle up them along the cabling
position and finally put the chassis on the cabinet.
3. Adopt upward or downward wiring to install the protective grounding cables
(same to the power cables). Here we introduce upward mode.

A. Stick two ends of the grounding cable with rectangle labels as temporary marker.

B. Lead the grounding cables along wiring ladder and binding position in the cabinet into the
vicinity of the grounding point of the device.
&

Remark:

In case the grounding cable of the chassis directly connects with grounding bar of the customer, the grounding cable and
power cable can be laid together along the cable rack of the equipment room & cabling path in the cabinet.
Cables should be bundled up once every 100 mm inside the cabinet.

7. Install optical fiber
IMPORTANT:
1. Adopt upward or downward wiring to install optical fiber. Here we introduce
upward mode.
2. If the cable rack is not configured with dedicated cable trough for signal cable,
the fiber must first pass through corrugated pipe / bellows before being laid on
the cable rack.

A. Stick two ends of the fiber with rectangle labels as temporary marker.

B. Unfold the fiber pigtails in a clear area in the equipment room, and bundle them up at
both ends.

Note:
1 The number of fibers laid at a time shouldnt be large, preferably not more than 50.
2 Bundle them up at two ends to avoid disorder when laying them along the cable rack.

ZXCTN 9008/9004 Quick Installation

Guide

C. Lay fiber pigtails along the cable rack.

Note:
1 If the equipment room is equipped with dedicated cable trough for signal cable, the fibers may not pass through the
corrugated pipe / bellows. However, between this cable trough and equipment side cable rack, the hose must be adopted
to protect the fibers.
2 When laying fibers along the cable rack, make sure the distance between fiber and power cable must be larger than 30
mm (Note: Black cables beside fibers in the left Figure are signal cable but not power cable.) Fibers should have a
bending radius larger than 400 mm at the turning point.

D. Remove the protective cap from the fiber heads, and plug the fibers into corresponding
ports.

&

Remark:

ZXCTN 9008/9004 Quick Installation

Guide
To avoid damaging the fiber connector, the protective cap cannot be removed from the connector unless the fiber is about to
be plugged into port. Maintain the protective cap for optical module that is not going to be plugged with optical fiber.

E. Tidy the fibers from at the port side and bundle them up along the cable rack of the
chassis.

Note:
1 Do not bundle the fibers up too tightly. Make sure the fibers can be twitched freely.
2 The fiber of a board must be laid vertically along the board to reach the cable rack, which facilitates subsequent
maintenance.
3 The fibers from different boards should be put into the hose after they converge. Adopt wire fasteners to fasten the hose
to the cable rack of the rack.

F. Lay the fibers along cabling path in the cabinet

Note:
1 The hose must stretch out to reach the cable trough for signal cable.
