Install fonts on Linux systems

There are different ways of installing fonts on linuxsystems, the simple one is 'per user' and
the more complicated, 'global' font installation.

Per user/users
Create a fontfolder in a users /home, called .fonts
#: mkdir ~/.fonts
( #: cd /folder/with/newfonts - unzip if needed )
#: mv *ttf *TTF ~/.fonts
After this you need to logoff and login again

Global installation
This is or all users on the system and not user specific. This is a little bit harder but for
systems with multiple users it's a good solution.
First of all you need to become 'root'
#: mkdir -p /usr/local/share/fonts/ttfonts
#: mv *ttf *TTF /usr/local/share/fonts/ttfonts
#: cd /usr/local/share/fonts/ttfonts
#: ttmkfdir -o fonts.scale
#: mkfontdir
#: chkfontpath -add /usr/local/share/fonts/ttfonts
#: /etc/rc.d/init.d/xfs restart
This should do it, good luck!
