Dear Friend,

I know that in the last few days, many of you have seen emails attacking me. My favorite
was the charge that I am against traditional marriage. My bride of almost 43 years and
the mother of our 8 children was, needless to say, not amused!

Our campaign has great momentum. I lead liberal Democrat Richard Cordray in the
polls. We out raised him in the reports filed Friday by $264,000. And, we have over a
million in the bank. I look forward to running with a great Republican ticket and
working with you in its months ahead.

What follows is my conservative voting record. If you have any questions, give me a call
at 937-776-5080.

Very respectfully yours,

Mike DeWine

• During his service in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, Mike DeWine maintained
a 100% pro-life voting record, helped lead the fight to put an end to the brutal
partial-birth abortion practice, and wrote the Unborn Victims of Violence Act.

• Mike DeWine believes that marriage is a sacred institution between a man

and a woman. That’s why he co-sponsored and voted in support of a
Constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.

• As a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Mike DeWine worked hard to

ensure the confirmation of conservative judges to the federal courts -- judges
who will judge and not legislate. DeWine is proud to have fought for the
confirmations of both Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito to the Supreme
Court.

• Mike DeWine’s actions with the so-called Gang of 14, resulted in:

A. Confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Alito and Chief Justice Roberts.

B. Confirmation of numerous Circuit Court Judges whom the Democrats had
unjustly blocked.
C. Preserved the filibuster that Republicans in the Senate can now use against
President Obama.
D. In all likelihood prevented President Obama' s health care bill from
passing. If the judicial filibuster had been eliminated, a simple majority of
Democrats in this Congress could have voted to eliminate the legislative
filibuster, paving the way for easy (51 votes) passage of Obama' s health
care bill.

• Mike DeWine believes strongly in the 2nd Amendment and an individual’s

right to bear arms. Government should focus on keeping guns out of the hands
of criminals -- not law abiding citizens! DeWine respects the right of Americans
to carry firearms for protection and self-defense. He supports Ohio’s concealed
carry law and as Attorney General, he will work to expand reciprocity agreements
with other states.

• Choice in education is important in promoting success. That is why as Chairman

of the District of Columbia Appropriations Subcommittee in the Senate, Mike
DeWine led the successful fight, against strong Democrat opposition, for the
Washington, DC school vouchers program.

• For businesses to thrive and families to prosper, Mike DeWine believes we

should keep taxes low. In the Senate, DeWine supported and voted for lowering
taxes including two of the largest tax cuts in U.S. history that resulted in tax cuts
for 4.4 million Ohioans.

Ratings, awards and endorsements:

• Mike DeWine has been endorsed in his Attorney General campaign by Ohio
Right to Life for his commitment to the pro-life cause. He has a 100% pro-life
voting record spread over his career and he earned a 0% rating by NARAL,
indicating a solid pro-life voting record.

• The United States Chamber of Commerce awarded Mike DeWine the Spirit of
Enterprise Award 5 times when he was in the U.S. Senate. This indicates a strong
commitment to American business.

• Mike DeWine is a 5 time winner of the National Federation of Independent

Businesses’ Guarding of Small Business award and received a perfect 100%
rating in 3 sessions of Congress. Mike DeWine knows that small business is the
backbone of the American economy.

• Mike DeWine has been endorsed by Ohio Veterans United because of his staunch
support of our Military and Veterans. In 2006, Mike DeWine was one of four
legislators to receive the Military Coalition’s highest award, the Award of Merit.

• The independent research website www.ontheissues.org rated Mike DeWine, on

his past votes, as “Right Conservative.” This is the same designation given to
John Kasich, Rob Portman, John Boehner, Jim Jordan, and Jean Schmidt.
