Christian communities have been established recently as part of the revitalisation strategy for FILCOS, in the thrust to strengthen its religious, social and cultural foundations. Part of this revival strategy was the renaming of FILCOS Blacktown to FILCOS Blacktown - Northwest and the widening of its geographical scope to include areas in the Northwest sector of Sydney. This move is to recognise the fact that FILCOS member families have been quite mobile and that their new places of residence now include suburbs to the north of the Blacktown local government area e.g. Kellyville, Baulkham Hills and Castle Hill. The newly created Christian communities are – • Divina Pastora Community (Rooty Hill) - The coordinators are

FILCOS Blacktown-Northwest has organized the celebration of the feast of the nativity of the Blessed Mother Mary on Saturday, 8th of September 2007. This will be held at the Our Lady of Czestochowa Church (Polish Catholic Church), 116 Quakers Rd. Marayong, starting at 2.00pm. A procession of statues and images of our Mother Mary will be held, followed by the holy mass. There will be refreshments and fellowship after the mass. Filipino Chaplain Fr. Raning Creta will be the principal celebrant of the mass which will focus on the theme “Celebrating the love of the Father, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, together with Mary our Mother”. FILCOS members and devotees of the Blessed Mother Mary are invited to this celebration and to bring their images or statues of the Mother and participate in the procession before the mass. This celebration is now intended as one of the yearly activities of the newly revitalized FILCOS Blacktown Northwest to coincide with the celebration of the FILCOS anniversary and fiesta.

Sta. Rita Community (Glenwood 2) - The coordinators are Primo & Lyn Pangilinan and Perlita Kingsford.

San Pedro Community (Castle Hill) - The coordinators are Jay & Leah Bonifacio. FILCOS supplied to these new communities Our Lady of Fatima statues which were then enthroned in the name of their chosen saint and venerated during the novena. FILCOS coordinator Lito Yunon expressed his thanks to the coordinators of these communities for answering the call of the Lord to do this service for HIM.

Coordinator’s  and On behalf of the officers members of FILCOS Blacktown – Message thank you for joining North West, I

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ and my fellow devotees to the Blessed Virgin Mary, greetings!

us in this joyous By LITO YUNON occasion to celebrate the feast of the nativity of our Blessed Mother Mary. We are blessed that this day has become a reality, a day of thanksgiving for all the prayers that our Blessed Mother has done for all of us and for FILCOS being an instrument for this celebration. We are grateful for all our generous donors who have supported this celebration. We know the prayers of our mother Mary will be upon you and will grant you answers to all your prayers in accordance with the will of our Lord Jesus Christ. FILCOS intends to make this celebration a yearly event that will coincide with both the FILCOS anniversary and the FILCOS fiesta. I would also like to thank everyone for their continuing support throughout the whole year. With your support, FILCOS has been able to create five more Christian communities which have been entrusted with Fatima statues for their own block rosary. FILCOS has also been regularly supporting community, religious, social and fundraising activities and events. We have also shown our humanitarian concern for our kababayans in the Philippines by sending goods in aid of typhoon victims. We hope and pray that in the years to come FILCOS will be able to continue making significant contributions to the Filipino community. Once again, congratulations to everyone on this joyous occasion and happy birthday mother Mary! God bless us all.
