Management
The BLM protects and manages wild horses and
burros under the authority of the Wild FreeRoaming Horses and Burros Act of 1971 (as
amended) to ensure that healthy herds thrive on
healthy rangelands.
Manage horse and burro populations within the
ecosystem at a thriving natural ecological
balance.
Manage for multiple use.
