Since 1960 psycholinguistics has rejected the
behaviourist view to remain a part of the study of
human information processing. Noam Chomsky
declared after his review of Skinner’s Verbal
Behaviour (1957) that his intention was not
directed specifically at Skinner’s speculations with
respect to language, but rather is a general critique
of behaviourist’s theories of the nature of the
human mind.
