Performance Standard
Performance standard - shield to teacher. Protect teachers from being question how they evaluate
their pupils (based on what and how). Teachers evaluate their pupils base on the standard and
performance level in DSKP.
Arranged in ascending hierarchical manner to differentiate the different level of pupils achievement.

Learning Standard new description . Skills old description
Cluster is formed by learning standards or named Kelompok in Bahasa Malaysia
Choose learning standard from each cluster to evaluate the pupils. (Based on the pupil's level)
Evaluation can be done in every 3 months . (observe the pupils in three months and give the best
performance level they may achieved in this three months)
Teacher suppose to be finished all the learning standards within the time because the time is sufficient.
For example: In L&S skills, the learning standard 1.1.4Able to talk about related topics with
guidance. Hence, during the assessment, the pupils should not read the passage given, but he/she
needs to talk about the topics.
Reminders:
1. Teachers need to refer to the descriptor during the assessment in order to give the performance level to
each pupils.
2. Assessment is an on-going process. Hence, teachers need to choose the best performance level among
the 3 months.
4. Literature
Introduction of literature
Poetry - 8 poems - A Holiday; Woodpecker;
Short Stories The King of Kites
The Graphic Novels (more likely to comic) - The Jungle Book
Literature will be taught during the Language Arts.
Graphic novel will be sent to the school soon.
teachers need to guide their pupils regarding the elements of the story (setting, plot, conflict,
characters, point of view, theme and etc). And for novel (frame, gutter, panel, word balloon).
All the activities/ module can be referred in the CDs.
Reminders:
1. Refer the front pages of Record Book to make sure the lesson plans can be printed or handwriting.
2. Teacher are advised to keep all the record in hardcopy. (easier to refer)
3. Pupils' evidences Pupils exercises, workbooks and etc.
4. Bring the record book, DSKP and yearly plan when enter the class.
5. when marking books, make sure to mark every question/ answer or statement. At the end, don't just
write the date. write positive comments. Eg.: good, keep it up, well done....
6. The assesment (excel file), save it in 4 copies. (Jan- Mac; Apr-June; Jul-Sep; Oct-Dis). Don't delete
the older file for further use.
7. The assessment and the report are ongoing but the date of the report shall be on the end of the third
month. (Mac, June, September and November)
