Introduction
The CEP format was designed to make the program more engaging and tailored to your specific needs
and available time commitment. Basically, each module will look like a standard article but with iconic
guides on the left hand side. The iconic guides tell you a little about the content and the significance of
each section of text.
Importance Indicators
Each icon will be coloured green, orange or red.
RED: Symbolizes that this section of text is of critical importance and must be read in order to
understand the message of this module.
ORANGE: Symbolizes that this section of text important to read and will really help in tying the concepts
together and give you a more complete understanding of the module.
GREEN: Symbolizes that this section of text is very useful to read and will elaborate on your
understanding.
You should read every section of text. However, if you are short on time or are revising a module, it may
suffice to read only sections of text that have a red icon, if you have a little more time and interest then
you could also read the orange sections. The same applies to students of yours. Some CEP modules you
should print out and make available to students, for example a module on using memory. Typically,
students are only interested in the how to part of learning and not as much the ideas behind
techniques of learning. The iconic guides will allow them to read through a module and take only what
they need out of it.
The Time Table
At the top of each module will be
the table on your right. This is a
brief guide that lets you know in

Content Indicators
While the colour of iconic guides will let you know the relative importance of text, the picture imbedded
within the icon will give you an idea of the content in each section of text:
Whats In It For Me this will appear at the beginning of every module and tells you
what benefits you will derive from this module.
Level One Explanations the brain in this icon indicates that the related section
explains the ideas being taught in this module. The 1 in this icon indicates that the
level of detail/complexity (on a scale of 1 3) is 1.
Level Two Explanations the brain in this icon indicates that the related section
explains the ideas being taught in this module. The 2 in this icon indicates that the
level of detail/complexity (on a scale of 1 3) is 2.
Level Three Explanations the brain in this icon indicates that the related section
explains the ideas being taught in this module. The 3 in this icon indicates that the
level of detail/complexity (on a scale of 1 3) is 3.
Explanatory Example indicates that the related text is some form of an example
demonstrating how an idea works.
Practical Application Information on its own is useless unless we can find a way to
apply it practically. The related text describes way to practically apply the ideas
presented.
Practice Exercise The text provides an exercise for you to do right now in order to
understand and use the concept as intended
Explanatory Diagram A visual explanation of an idea. Usually a table, chart or
flowchart.
Bullet Summary A quick, concise summary of the main points in the module.

The Feedback Form

As part of each CEP module you will need to fill in a feedback form. The form will contain a section for
feedback on the CEP module and it will have a section for feedback on your progress with students. The
form is to be filled in by logging into the Tutor Admin section of our website. It will look something like
this:

Administrative Details
You will receive a Module on the 1st and 15th of every month. You must return the feedback form for
each module before you receive the next one.
Some of the CEP modules are suitable for distribution to students and are written as though for the
student. It will be clearly specified if the module should be made available to students. If you chose to
share a module with a student you should give it to them to complete for homework and spend 5
minutes discussing it with them next lesson. Make sure that it has been understood, the exercises
completed, and the practical applications being put to use (if suitable to do so).
