Today we will talk about the word which is pertaining to women.


The Latin word which is pertaining women is Gyne.
The Hindi equivalent of which is / / |
If you see any word which has GYN in it, understand that it has something related
to females.
Now go through the list of the words.

Gynic
Of or relating to females.
The magazine "Women's Health" has everything pertaning to women.
It is truly a gynic magazine.

Gyneocology
The branch of medicine dealing with the diseases of women; especially diseases of
genitourinary organs.
From Greek word logy which means study of.

Gynecopathy
A Gynecologist treats diseases peculiar to women.
From Greek word PATHOS which means suffering.
Gynecopathy refers to diseases which are related particularly to women.
Gynecopathy may or may not be related to brefore or after pregnancy.

Gynecologist
A gynecologist is consulted during the entire 9 months of pregnancy.
The doctor who treats the diseases of female ailments.
A physician who specializes in gynecopathy.
From Greek word iatros which means doctor.

Gyniatrics / Gyniatry
That branch of medicine dealing with the diseases of women.
Taken from Greek word iatro which means doctor.
Not used frequently.

Misogyny
A hatred of or aversion to women.
From Greek word Misos which means to hate
The opposite of Misogyny is Philogyny.

Philogynist
One who has a special love or fondness for women.
Then there are people who worship the women.
From Greek philein which means to love.
A love for women is called Gynophily or Philogyny

And truly wherever I have studied him, Shahrukh Khan truly loves all women,
including Karan Johar.

Gynecolatry
Worshipping the women. A Gynecolater is one who worships women.
From Greek word latreia which means to worship.
Then there are people who are just afraid of women. Such sort of people are called
Gynecophobic.

Gynecophobia / Gynephobia
A morbid fear of women.
Phobia is Greek word which means fear.

Gynecomania
A madness for women.
From Greek word Mania which means madness.

Gynarchy / Gynocracy
The rule of female.
The oldest female elephant is the ruler of the parade.
In ants and bees, the queen bee or the queen ant is the ruler of the family.

The societies of ants / bees / elephants are gynocentric.


From Greek word arkhein which means to rule.

Gynocentric
Holding women as the center of thoughts or activities.
Centric means pertaining to center.
For example Sri Mahila Grih Udyog Lijjat Paapad is a Gynocentric institution,
which strengthens women.

Gynecogen
An agent which induces female characteristics. Basically female sex hormones.

Compare with ANDROGEN.


From the Greek word gen which means a substance that produces something.
A Gynecogenic is a substance which stimulates the development of female
characteristics.
Gynecogens especially estrogen is present in women. It is higher in women during
their reproductive age.

Gynecogens are responsible for
1. Secondary sexual characteristics in women.
2. Increase fat stores in the female body.
3. It is because of this harmones that the skin of women is so very soft.
4. It is also responsible for maintaining the bone density in women.
5. It increase HDL, triglyceride
6. Decrease LDL, fat deposition (That is why women are at low risk of heart
diseases. Yes, women too have hearts. How can you forget your mother?)

Gynaeceum / Gyneceum
A part of a building set apart for women in an ancient Greek or Roman house.
A HAREM.

Gynecomastia

Enlargement of the male breast. It occurs because of some common endocrine


disorder.
Mastia is a greek word which means condition of having breasts or mammary
glands.

It is really becoming a popular disease now-a-days.

Gynecophonus
Pertaining to a male with a feminine voice.
From Greek word phone which means sound or voice.

Gynoplastics

Reparative or reconstructive plastic surgery of the females to make them look


beautiful.
From Greek work plastos which means to mould.
Mould means to form something with some malleable material.

Monogyny
Mono means ONE.
(Of a male) to have sex with only one female.

Polygyny
Poly means MANY.

(Of a male) to have sex with several females.


Androgynoid
A male resembling a female.
A person who looks like a female, but has male parts.

Gynandroid
A female resembling a male.
A person who looks like a male, but has female parts.

Androgynous / Gynadrous
One who possess the physical characters of both sexes, at once male and female;
HERMAPHRODITE.
A person who has an ambiguous sexual identity.
A person who is neither masculine nor feminine.
You can never be sure if you are seeing a male or a female.

Gynoid Gynecoid

A robot which looks like a woman.


It is good to know that an android is a robot that looks like a man.
