THIRD PART. HOW DO YOU LEARN BETTER?

6. What learning style do you identify yourself with?
a. Analytical.- The analytical pupil likes the language: do grammatical exercises, practise his/her
pronunciation, analyze and know the grammatical rules, etc. He/she only speaks when he/she is
sure he/she will do it right.
b. Global.- The global pupil prefers to learn with real language samples: read newspaper news,
watch TV, listen to the radio. He takes advantage of any chance to speak in Spanish, both in the
classroom and out of it, because he prefers communicating to making mistakes.
c. Visual.- This pupil learns with his/her eyes: he is good at learning new words writing them. It is
also easy for him/her to learn reading newspapers and magazines, watching films...
d. Auditive.- This pupil uses his/her ear: he learns new words listening to them, he understands
songs easily, he works with the tapes of the didactic units of the textbook...
e. Kinesthesic.- In order to learn, this pupil needs to take objects, move around the classroom, and
carry out activities that imply physical effort.
f. Individual style.- Every one of us usually have our own learning style, as a consequence of the
union of elements of several of the above mentioned styles. If this is your case, describe it:
7. What strategies do you use to learn something new (words, grammatical rules, etc.)?
MEMORIZING

1. I relate the new word to those I already know, grouping them according to their categories: food,
colours...
2. I write a sentence where that word appears.
3. I use the photographic memory: I remember the new word where I have seen it.
4. I create my own dictionary, writing the new word and its meaning.
5. I memorize the new words drawing something that stands for them.
6. I create rhymes and poems with the new words.
7. I repeat or write the word a lot of times.
8. I say the word as I carry out a physical activity that represents it.
9. I usually revise the vocabulary and the new grammatical rules.
