Seating: While doing this mantra japa, one has to either face East or North. If one does
not have a guru, contemplate on Lord Daks i nmrti and mentally accept Him as Guru.
Prelimiaries:
1. Prayers to Guru ma ala:
While reciting Guru mantras, one should use mr g mudra,

2. Tatvcamaam
camana is a procedure where water is taken in an uttarani from pacaptra
in the right palm, which is sipped after reciting mantras. After finishing
camana, right palm should be washed with a few drops of water from
pacaptra. Sdhaka should always have a clean white towel by his /her to
dry his hands.

3. Prymah:
Do prnyma by reciting Mahganapati mlamantra.
Fold index and middle fingers of the right palm. Use the little finger and the ring finger to
close the left nostrils and the thumb to close the right nostril. Inhale through the left
nostril, hold for a few seconds and exhale through the right nostril. This is one round of
prnyma. Thus one should perform three rounds of the following Mahganapati
mlamantra.
4.Gurupuk worship:
As Mahganapati mantra japam is mainly followed under r Vidy cult, one has to
worship his or her Guru-s. If one does not have a guru, then the following mantra can be
used.

asmadcryaparyanta vande guru parapar ||
5. saapj
Offer flowers on the sana by recting the following manra.
dhraakti kamalsanya namah
6. Deha raks
By reciting this mantra, run both the palms from head to toe of the body. First, do this
from head to toe and after this, cross forearms and run the palms from shoulders to
finger tips.

Now take away the right palm from pacaptra and do the following upacra-s:
Take flowers and do the following arcane by offering flowers at the base of
the pacaptra.

c. Hrayi ysah

- gl - irase svh| (open middle and ring fingers of the right hand and
touch the top of the forehead)
- gl - ikhyai vasat | (open the right thumb and touch the back of the
head. This is the point where tuft is kept)

palms from shoulders to finger tips)

t | (open the index, middle and ring
fingers of the right hand; touch both the eyes using index and ring fingers and touch the
point between the two eyebrows (j cakra) with the middle finger.
- glah - astrya phat || (open up the left palm and strike it three times with
index and middle fingers of the right hand)

(by using right hand thumb and middle fingers make rattle clockwise around the head)

Take water in uttarani and by reciting the following two mantra-s, offer the water to the
