Global Warming

Everybody should change their way of life to reduce globalwarming.There are several things
that we can do. One of them is by buying and consuming fresh local groceries as much as
possible. It of course includes local vegetables, fruits, bread, etc.
Local groceries dont need much transportation to get it into the market. It of course means,
the amount of carbon dioxide produced is less than the groceries from other region.
Therefore, by buying local groceries we are helping reduce the amount of carbon dioxide
produced.
Consuming fresh groceries instead of frozen ones are healthier for us. Furthermore, fresh
food or groceries means no requirements for it to be freeze up. It means that no electricity is
needed and saving energy means reducing carbon dioxide and money.
So, from now on we should consume fresh local groceries to reduce global warming.

IS SMOKING GOOD FOR US?


Before we are going to smoke, it is better to look at the fact. About 50 thousands people die
every year in Britain as direct result of smoking. This is seven times as many as die in road
accidents. Nearly a quarter of smokers die because of diseases caused by smoking.
Ninety percent of lung cancers are caused by smoking. If we smoke five cigarettes a day, we
are six times more likely to die of lung cancer than a non smoker. If we smoke twenty
cigarettes a day, the risk is nineteen greater. Ninety five percent of people who suffer of
bronchitis are people who are smoking. Smokers are two and half times more likely to die of
heart disease than non smokers.
Additionally, children of smoker are more likely to develop bronchitis and pneumonia. In one
hour in smoky room, non smoker breathes as much as substance causing cancer as if he had
smoked fifteen cigarettes.
Smoking is really good for tobacco companies because they do make much money from
smoking habit. Smoking however is not good for every body else.

Jack and the beanstalk


Once upon a time there was a poor widow who had an only son named Jack. They
were so poor that they didnt have anything except a cow. When the cow had grown too old,
his mother sent Jack to the market to sell it. On the way to the market, Jack met a butcher
who had some beautiful beans in his hand. The butcher told the boy that the beans were of
great value and persuaded the silly fad to sell the cow for the beans.
Jack brought them happily. When he told his mother about this, his mother became so
angry that she threw the beans out of the window.
When Jack woke up in the morning, he felt the sun shining into a part of his room but
all the rest was quite dark and shady.
So he jumped to the window. What did he see? The beanstalk grew up quite close past
Jacks window. He opened the window and jumped to the beanstalk which ran up just like a
big ladder.
He climbed and climbed till at last he reached the sky. While looking around, he
saw a very huge castle. He was very amazed.
Then Jack walked along the path leading to the castle. There was a big tall woman on
the doorstep. Jack greeted her and asked for the giantess mercy to give him breakfast,
because he felt very hungry. Although the giantess grumbled at first, finally she gave Jack a
hunk of bread and cheese and a jug of milk.
Jack hadnt finished when the whole house, began to tremble with the noise of
someones coming. Oh! Its my husband! cried the giantess. What on earth shall I do?
Hastily the giantess opened a very big cupboard and hid Jack there.

The Rats and The Elephants


Once upon a time there lived a group of mice under a tree in peace. However, a group of
elephants crossing the jungle unknowingly destroyed the homes of all the rats. Many of them
were even crushed to death.
Then taking of rats decided to approach the elephant's chief and request him to guide his herd
through another route. On hearing the sad story, the elephant's king apologized and agreed to
take another route. And so the lives of the rats were saved.
One day elephant-hunters came to the jungle and trapped a group of elephants in huge nets.
Then the elephant king suddenly remembered the king of the rats. He summoned on of the
elephants of his herd, which had not been trapped, to go seek help from the king and told him
about the trapped elephants.
The rat's king immediately took his entire group of rats and they cut open the nets which had
trapped the elephant's herd. The elephant herd was totally set free. They danced with joy and
thank the rats.

CACTUS
A cactus (plural: cacti) is any member of the plant family Cactaceae, native to the Americas.
They are often used as ornamental plants, but some are also crop plants. Cacti are grown for
protection of property from wild animals, as well as many other uses.
Cacti are part of the plant order Caryophyllales, which also include members like beets,
gypsophila, spinach, amaranth, tumbleweeds, carnations, rhubarb, buckwheat, plumbago,
bougainvillea, chickweed and knotgrass.
Cacti are unusual and distinctive plants, which are adapted to extremely arid and hot
environments, showing a wide range of anatomical and physiological features which
conserve water. Their stems have adapted to become photosynthetic and succulent, while the
leaves have become the spines for which cacti are well known.
Cacti come in a wide range of shapes and sizes. The tallest is Pachycereus pringlei, with a
maximum recorded height of 19.2 m, and the smallest is Blossfeldia liliputiana, only about 1
cm in diameter at maturity. Cactus flowers are large, and like the spines and branches arise
from areoles. Many cactus species are night blooming, as they are pollinated by nocturnal
insects or small animals, principally moths and bats. Cacti range in size from small and
globular to tall and columnar.

KANGOROO
A kangaroo is an animal found only in Australia. It has a smaller relative, called a wallaby,
which lives on the Australian island of Tasmania and in New Guinea.
Kangaroos eat grass and plants.They have short front legs, but very long and strong back legs
and a tail. These are used for sitting up and for jumping. Kangaroos have been known to
make forward jumps of over eight metres, and leap across fences more than three metres
high. They can also run at speeds of over 45 kilometres per hour.
The largest kangaroos are the Great grey kangaroo and the Red Kangaroo. Adult grows to a
length of 1.60 metres and weighs over 90 kilos.
Kangaroos are marsupials. This means that the female kangaroo has an external pouch on the
front of her body. A baby kangaroo is very tiny when it is born, and it crawls at once into this
pouch where it spends its first five months of life
