will assume that the world cup contenders have been divided into 2 groups of 9 teams each.
Each team in a group plays the other teams in the group. The top two teams from each group
enter the semi finals ( after which the winner is decided by knockout).
However, Paul has a soft spot for India and when India plays any team, Paul always
backs India. Alas, his predictions on matches involving India are right only 2 out of 3 times.
In order to qualify for the semi finals, it is sufficient for India to win 7 of its group matches.

CASE I WE ARE DAMN CLEAR--------To win all 10, probability is (2/3)^10.
COMING TO CASE 2--------Probability of winning 7matches out of 8= (2/3)^7 and
Probability of Loosing the 1 match= 1/3.
This process can occur in 8 ways. probability= 8*((2/3)^7 * 1/3) and
we know to win semi final and final match probability
is (2/3)^2
Hence,Total probability=8*((2/3)^7 * 1/3) * (2/3)^2 = 8/3 * (2/3)^9.
so sum up both cases finally.
((and its not about 8/3 probabiltiy....it is meaning 8 ways......for just convenience it is written

In 4 yrs the combined grwth of the trees is gvn as 8
so i kept the normal growing tree as x and the other as (3/5)x..
so x+(3/5)x=8
therfore x will be 5 here..
sub it in (3/5)x we will get the slwly gwring tree as 3..
for 2 years it will be 1. smething..
its exactly 1.5.. coz for 4yrs it s 3
then for 1yr it will be 3/4
for 2 yrs it is 2 *3/4 ie 1.5
The answer and the method you've approached is correct... But both
options a and c are correct. So we must leave this kind of questions...

the total number of cubes of 1cm which can be made from the above cube
is 98
so there is totally = 98 X 6 = 588 sides.
Since 4 sides of the bigger cube is painted. In total 100 sides of the
smaller cubes are painted
So sides remain unpainted = 588 - 100 =488
