Company Rolls In Cell Towers on Wheels to Accommodate Large Crowds
BOSTON, MASS., JUNE 29, 2015 As thousands of people prepare to converge on the Charles
River Esplanade for Bostons annual Fourth of July celebrations, AT&T* is bringing in extra network
support to make sure its customers can stay connected.
The company is setting up two cell towers on wheels (COWs) and free temporary Wi-Fi in the area to
accommodate whats expected to be a large number of smartphone users in Boston. The additional
coverage will provide customers with faster and more reliable connections as the event runs from July 3
to July 4.
Bostons spectacular Fourth of July celebration is an annual summer tradition for so many Bostonians
and visitors, said Patricia Jacobs, President, AT&T New England. We know our customers will want to
stay connected and share texts, photos and status updates throughout the festivities. Were hard at
work to help provide great coverage and fast speeds.
With expected crowds of tens of thousands, AT&T has taken these and other steps so its customers
can easily keep in touch with friends and family as they enjoy the concerts and fireworks.

Over the past six years (2009-2014), AT&T invested more than $140 billion including investments in its
wireless and wireline networks, acquisitions of wireless spectrum and operations. Since 2009, AT&T
has invested more in the United States than any other public company. In a September 2014 report, the
Progressive Policy Institute ranked AT&T No. 1 on its list of U.S. Investment Heroes.
