KneePointvoltageisnothingbutapointatwhichtheCTsaturates.ThatsyitsalwaysbettertodesigntheCTswhichcanoperatewithout
saturationevenatavoltageappearsintheCTduringfaultcondition.PlsfindbelowthefollowingformulaforcalculatingtheKneepoint
voltage.

where,IfisthecurrentrefectedtotheCTsecondaryduringfaultcondition,
RctistheresistanceoftheCTwhichcanbeadoptedbymeansofathumbruleconsideringtheCTratio,
Rlistheleadresistancei.e.sumoftheresistanceofthewireconnectedbetweentherelay&CTandImpedanceofferedbytheinternal
circuitaryoftherelay

Faultcurrent(inKA)=RatedCurent/(%Impedance*1000)
%Impedenceshallbecalculatedforthesystemfromthepointofsourcetothepointofoccurenceofthefault.
