Gallipoli … busting the myths of the ANZAC legend
Sunday 12 July 4pm Porirua Club, Lodge Place Porirua
Porirua Historical Association presents a public lecture by military historian, Dr
Damien Fenton, a fellow at Massey University and author of New Zealand and
the First World War.
Dr Fenton’s public lecture will look at the nine month Gallipoli campaign from
the other side, the Ottomans who lost 6000 people at Gallipoli, many of them
Arab soldiers conscripted from Syria and Palestine. Learn more about this
famous and ill-fated campaign.
Everyone welcome. Koha, drinks and meals available after the lecture.

Keep Porirua Beautiful Trust team invites residents associations to work with
them to improve unloved areas in our villages. On Tuesday 7 July interested
people are invited to a coffee and cake discussion session 6.30-7.30pm at PCC’s
works operations depot meeting room, 15 Prosser Street, Porirua. Anyone
