Fostering Job Creation, Protecting Middle Class Ohioans Greed on Wall Street has created instability on Main Street

. All over Butler County, families are making tough choices to make ends meet in a difficult national recession. I am running for state representative because I believe Butler County families need help. I believe Butler County families need a representative in Columbus who is working FOR them in these tough times, not AGAINST them. As an attorney who represents families and workers, I have spent my career fighting to protect people who work hard every day and play by the rules. I have represented thousands of Ohioans whose family members have died from asbestos cancers and suffered injuries because their companies didn’t play by the rules. I am proud that my whole family is dedicated to serving our community. My wife Michele is a former teacher at and an attorney who represented abused and neglected children. Together, we’ve devoted our careers fighting for people that didn’t have a voice. The people of Butler County deserve a government that is efficient and focused on growing our economy so that our citizens can find the employment that they need. The people of Butler County deserve a government that strives to the highest of ethics, not one that looks to the federal government to clean up corruption. The citizens of Butler County deserve a government that works to provide quality education for each of our residents. The voices of people in Butler County have been lost in Columbus, and I am running for the Ohio House because I want to build upon my proven record of fighting for Ohioans. I will join Gov. Strickland and Democrats in the House in their efforts to protect Ohio families and move Ohio forward. Butler County residents need a representative who will focus on job creation and consumer issues to protect the pocketbooks of hard-working Ohioans. Our representative has proven he is more concerned with politics than with progress. ! By opposing investments in Ohio’s economy and infrastructure, he has proven that he will not fight on behalf of Butler County. By opposing programs that incentivize companies to create high-tech jobs in Ohio and attract business and jobs to low-income areas, he has proven that he will not fight on behalf of Butler County. By opposing comprehensive education reforms that will prepare our children for a 21st century economy, he has proven that he will not fight on behalf of Butler County. By opposing efforts to protect families against foreclosures, he has proven that he will not fight on behalf of Butler County. By opposing legislation to help laid-off workers get healthcare coverage for themselves and their families, he has proven that he will not fight on behalf of Butler County.

Furthermore, Republicans in Ohio government have proven they can’t be trusted by Ohio taxpayers. Locally, millions were lost by theft by elected officials, while other officers of our government have done nothing to bring the thieves to justice. Over the Republicans 25 years in power, they hugely expanded the size of state government. With Democrats in

charge, we have shrunk government by 5,000 jobs and $4.3 billion over the past three years. All in all, we’ve downsized government to its smallest since the days of the Reagan administration. The only thing our representative and his allies have managed to do is find a lot of different ways to say the same word: NO. I do not believe that a platform of NO ideas and NO answers is how to represent the people of Butler County. I am running for the Ohio House because I know we deserve better. In Columbus, I will represent the needs and values of middle-class families in Butler County and across Ohio.
