Principals
Desk
I am pleased to announce that
Mrs. Carol Hahn will become the new principal of
Bellows Spring Elementary School on July 1, 2014. She is currently serving as the
principal of West Friendship Elementary School (WFES). Prior to serving at WFES,
she was an assistant principal at Manor Woods Elementary School and a teacher at
Triadelphia Ridge and Bryant Woods Elementary School. She grew up in
Pennsylvania and has taught in many states as she followed her husbands military
career. She is student centered and wants all children to wonder about the world
around them. Mrs. Hahn is excited about joining the fine staff and parent
community at Bellows Spring. She is committed to the academic focus and parent
involvement that is necessary for a robust learning environment.
She is looking forward to moving into Bellows Spring over the summer to continue
the preparations for the 2014-15 school year. Ms. Lopez and I will work together to
ensure a smooth transition.
Please join me in welcoming Mrs. Hahn to the Bellows Spring community. She will
count on your support to continue the fine traditions for excellence and learning here
at Bellows.
Best regards,
Harry Walker

GT Department
A BIG thank you goes out to
the students, teachers, and
parents who helped at the
Enrichment Fair held on June
4th. Hundreds of people
attended, and the student
work, including classroom
displays, GT projects, and
amazing artwork brightened
our school for the evening.
We are so fortunate to have
such a talented and
dedicated group of students,
families and staff willing to
work so hard together to
make a night and a year of
enrichment happen. Mark
your calendar for next year's
enrichment fair again on June
4th!
PE Department
Thank you to everyone for
supporting all of our Physical
Education and Health
activities and events this
year! We want everyone to
strive for 60 minutes of
activity a day and the
benefits of fueling a healthy
body! We have great things
planned for next school year
to continue to support our
Wellness mission at BSES.
As you prepare for the
upcoming school year, please
help us keep your children
safe with appropriate
footwear. In order for your
child to fully participate and
benefit from the PE program
next year, we need children
to come to each class ready
to learn. Safety and liability
parameters were established
for Physical

Education: Children must

wear sneakers that fully
cover the foot, with good
rubber-soled support that
tie and/or Velcro.
Our goal is to keep everyone
safe and help them be active;
and the first step is with
proper footwear. Have a
great summer and stay
active!
