1.OperatingInstruction
1.1RecommendedOperatingProcedures
Step1:Installthedeviceandpoweritup.
Step 2: Enroll users by registering his/her fingerprints, passwords or card. Assign
userssecurityprivilegesdirectlyonthedevice.
Step3: After enrolling users, verify thathis/her enrolled fingerprint, passwords or
cardis valid.
Step 4: Configure the device communication settings. Then download the users
newly enrolled information from the device into the Attendance Management
software on the computer.Data can betransmitted via TCP/IP, RS232 and RS485
clientorbyusingaUSBflashdrive.
Step5: Verifythe devicedisplaysthe correctdayandtime.Thenstarttoattendance.
Step6:DownloadattendancerecordstotheAttendanceManagementandstatthem
attheendofthemonth.

1.3About Attendance
When the device is in standby status, only after successful fingerprint or
passwordverification,canusersaveattendance recordonthedevice.
Standbystatus:Asshownbelow:

Thepicturedisplayedinstandbystatuscanbepictureuploadedbyuser(referto
upload userdefined picture). It can also be time display (refer to 4.5 Interface
Option).
1. Selectattendancestate:
Mode1:
Whenthedevice isinstandby status, pressstate key on the deviceto modify
attendance state, and the state information will be displayed on the screen. The
current selected state is displayed in orange. Press ESC, the prompt information
willdisappear.Referto 4.4 KeyboardDefinitionfordefaultstatekeydefinition.

Mode2:
Various states can be set by user. Therefore, not all state information is
displayeduponkeypress.Correspondingstatescomeoutontheleftbottomcorner.
2. IdentityVerification
Aftersuccessfulattendancerecord,thedevicewilldisplaythecurrenttimeon
thescreeninclockmode.
(1) Fingerprint Matching
1: Nfingerprintmatching:
Verifythefingerprintpressedonthesensoratpresentwithallfingerprintdata
inthefingerprintreader.
Step1: Pressfingerprintproperlyonthesensor.
Step2: IfthedevicesaysThankyou,theverificationiscomplete.

IfthedevicesaysPleasepressagain,return Step1 forsecondoperation.

1:1fingerprintmatch (UserIDfingerprint)
Verify the fingerprint pressed on the sensor at present with the fingerprint
relatedusernumber.Usethismethodwhen the fingerprint isdifficulttoidentified.
Step1: InputUserIDofemployeetobeverifiedontheinitializinginterface.

Step2: Pressfingerprintproperlyonthesensor.
Step3: IfthedevicesaysThankyou,theverificationiscomplete.

IfthedevicesaysPleasepressagain,return Step2 forsecondoperation.

Employeecantryanother2timesbydefault.Therepeatedtimescanbesetin
4.5 InterfaceOption.Ifitfailsafter2times,return Step1forsecondoperation.
(2) PasswordMatching
Step1:InputUserID ofemployeetobeverifiedontheinitializinginterface.
Thenpress OK.
Step2:Ifitsaysthattheenrollnumberiswrong,itmeansthatthereisnosuch
number. If it prompt place finger, it means that the employee doesnt enroll
password.

Step3:Inputpasswordwhentheinterfaceappears.

Step4: IfthedevicesaysThankyou,theverificationiscomplete.

Whenthedevicesayspassworderror,pleaseinputpasswordagain.

Employeecantryanother2timesbydefault.Therepeatedtimescanbesetin
4.5interfaceoption.Ifitfailsafter2times,returnStep1forsecondoperation.
(3) CardMatching
Step 1:Wave the cardneartheinduction area, aftertheinduction equipment
findthecard,removesthecardagain.
Step 2: When the equipment give us a tip, "Thank you", the certification
completed.

Step3:Ifthecardhasnotregisteredyet,promptthatcardisnotregistered

Note:Onlysometypesofdeviceshavethisfunction.Thecardsensingarea
isroundthefingerprintsensor.

1.4Communication
The device only records attendance time. The statement can be disposed by
software on PC. Therefore, it is necessary for device to connect PC to download
attendancerecordtoattendancesoftware.
Thefollowingaresomeconnectionmethod:
1. Ethernet:
(1)Through Hub:Usestraight line(to connectthe deviceand hub) to connect

deviceintothenetwork.
(2)Direct connection:Use crossover cable(to connect two Ethernet terminals
directly)toconnectdeviceandPC.
Set ondevice:
Entermenuoption communicationoption tosetthefollowingitems:
IPaddress: DefaultIPas192.168.1.201.Youcanmodifyitifitisnecessary.
Subnetmask:Defaultsubnetmaskas255.255.255.0.Youcanmodifyitifitis
necessary.
Gateway address: Default gateway address0.0.0.0. You can modify itif it is
necessary.
Networkspeed: Therearethreeoptions:ATUO,10M,and100M.
Connectionpassword:Itcanbesetornotset.Ifitisset,inputcorresponding
numericalvalueonconnectioninterfaceofPCsoftware.
2. RS232:
UseRS232serialportwireforconnection.
Set ondevice:
Entermenuoptioncommunicationoption tosetthefollowingoptions:
Baudrate:Communicationspeedrate(withcomputer),ifthecommunication
speedishigh,RS232(115200, 57600) isrecommended.
RS232: SelectOnforRS232.
Communication password: It can be set or not set. If it is set, input
correspondingnumericalvalueonconnectioninterfaceofPCsoftware.
3. RS485
Set ondevice:
Entermenucommunicationoption tosetthefollowingoptions:
DeviceID:1254.
Baudrate:Communicationspeedrate(withcomputer),ifthecommunication

speedislowandstable,RS485 (9600, 38400) isrecommended.


RS485: SelectOnforRS485.
Communication password: It can be set or not set. If it is set, input
correspondingnumericalvalueonconnectioninterfaceofPCsoftware.

1.5Main Menu
StartattheCheck/ClockInscreen.PresstheMenukeytoopentheMainMenu,
asshowninthefollowingfigure(If youhavesettheMenukeyasashortcut,long
presstoentertheMainMenu):

User management: Browse the users basic information like ID, name,
fingerprint,card,passwordand privilegeandsoon Increase,editordeleteoperation
thebasicinformationSettheworkcodeforuserandcardmanagement.
Communication: Set up communication parameters between the equipment
andthePC,includingIPaddress,gateway,subnetmask,baudrate,devicenumber,
communicationspasswordetc.
System: Manage the data and set the system parameters, including basic
parameters, interface parameters, fingerprint and attendance parameters, to
maximizemeetusersneedsinthefunctional,displayandotherareas.
Date/Time: Device time date should set accurate to ensure the accurate
attendancetime.
PenDrive:ByUSB,theuserinfoandattendancedataetc.canbeimportedto
theaccordinglysoftwaretodealorimporttheuserinformationforotherfingerprint

devices to use.
Auto Test: automatically test the function of each module if it is workable,
includingthescreen,sensor,voice,keyboardandclocktests.
Record:Forquerytherecordsavedinthedeviceconvenience,queryrecord
functionisprovided.
SysInfo:Usesysteminformationtocheckthecurrentdevicessavingstatus,
itsversioninformationandsoon.

2.User Management
Theusersbasicinformationonthedeviceincludesfingerprint,passwordand
management Privilege. In companys attendance management, for employees
change,theinformationonthedevicealsoneedsmodification.Therefore,operations
includingadd, delete,check,modifyandsooncanbedoneonthedevice.

2.1 AddaNew User


Firstly,enrollemployeesfingerprint, password orIDnumber inthedevice.
Enter Newuser interface:

ID NO: Staff's attendance number. More details please refer to Appendix1


CommonOperations.
Name: InputusersnamewithT9inputmethod.

FP (Fingerprint): Enroll employees fingerprint. Ten fingerprints can be


enrolled at most. The employee with fingerprint enrolled can use fingerprint to
recordattendance.
PWD (Enroll password): enroll users password. The effective digit is 18.
The employeewithpasswordenrolledcanusepasswordtorecordattendance.
Card: Registeredstaff's Card, only the registered cardis possible to check
attendance.
Privilege:Usersarepeoplewhoseidentitymustbeauthenticatedbeforeentera
menu.Theordinaryconsumercantrackattendancebythecardorthepasswordonly
the manager may equally carry onthe daily checking attendancewiththe ordinary
consumer,butmayenterthemenutooperateeachoption.

Note:Whenthereisnoappointedthemanager,anypersonallmayentrythe
menuoperationafterthemanagerisappointed,anyoneisunabletoentrythe
menu until the manager status is confirmed, after the success can entry the
menu

Thefollowingisthe procedureforadduser.
1. InputUserID
1) AllocateUserIDbydefault.
2) Press to delete the allocated User ID by default. Input User ID from
keyboard.IftheUserIDiswrong,youcanpress buttontoinputitagain.

Note:Theautomaticallyallocatefunctiononlyfor5digitcodedevice.The9
digitscodedevicecannotallocateIDnumber.Wearenotrecommendedtousethe
systembackupIDnumber8888.
2. Inputname
Use T9 input method to input employees name.More details please refer to
Appendix1CommonOperations.
Press OK or / to select Enroll fingerprint, then press OK to start

fingerprint.
3. Enrollfingerprint

Press finger according to devices prompt. Press the finger three times in the
properway.
Ifonefingerprintisenrolledsuccessfully,pressOKtocontinueanotherfinger,
orpress ESC toreturnthelastinterface.
Press/toselectenrollpasswordandpress OK toenrollpassword.
4. Enrollpassword

Input password (18) according to the prompt, and press OK to verify it.
Thenpress OK saveitorpressESC toexitwithoutsavingit.
Aftersaving,

displaywillbeonthedevice,whichmeansthepasswordhas

beenset.
5. Enrollcards
Scroll/keystolocatethecursoronenrollcard"button,andpress"OK"

toentertheregistrationcard.

Slightwarethecardneartheinductionarea,aftertheequipmentfoundthecard
number,press OKkeytosave,pressESC togiveup,thenremovethecardfromthe
equipment, after the "Enroll successfully" the card number will display on the
registerbutton.
6. Privilegesetting
Scrollthe/key andlocalcursoronthe"Privilege"optionbox,scroll

keytochooseprivilege.
7. Save/exituserregistration
To confirm the registration information is correct, after getting confirmation,
saveit.
Thewayforsaving:
1)scroll/key to locate cursor on the "

"button, please press "OK"

keyagain,theprompt"thedatahasbeenchanged,Areyousuretosaveit?onthe
equipment,press"OK"thekeytosaveit,ifyoudonotwantsaving,press"ESC"to
exit.Iftheprompt,Savesuccessfully!Continuestoinput?"appearonequipment,
wantcontinuingtopress"OK",ifyouabandonthisoperation,press"ESC"key.
2)PressESCkeyorscroll/keytolocatethecursoronthe"ESC"button,
pleasepress"OK"keyagain,theprompt"thedatahasbeenchanged,Areyousure
tosaveit"appearonequipment,press"OK"keytosaveandreturntothepreceding
ofmenus,doesnotserveandreturntotheprecedingofmenus,press"ESC"key.

2.2ManageUser
All users information saved in the current device can be queried in manage
user,including user name, fingerprint count, whetherto enroll password or card,
userattendancerecordandsoon.Editingordeletingusercanalsobedonehere.

2.2.1 Search User
Ifmanyusersareenrolled,inordertofindanemployeequickly,thedevicehas
providedUserIDtosearchtheemployee.

blue cursor will pointto the employee. If thereis no suchemployee, no enrolled
datawillappear.
2.2.2 Query Attendance Record
When administrator is checking employees fingerprint and other enrolled
information,hecanalsochecktheemployeesattendancerecordduringthatmonth.

on manage user interface to get the operating menu, select

record, andtheemployeesmonthlyattendancerecordcanbechecked:

ThenpressESCtoreturnto manageuser interface.


2.2.3 Edit User
Edit user information saved in the device. For example, the former enrolled
fingerprintsareunusable,entereditusertoreenrollfingerprint,passwordorcard.
Use/ or query user on manage userinterface to select employee to be
edited. Then press

to select edit or press shortcut to verify it, and all

enrolledinformationcanbedisplayedonthedevice:

Notice:Onlysomemodelshave enroll cardoptions.

User ID cannot be modified. The operation is similar to that of add user.

Fingerprint can be reenrolled. Clickenroll password directly to set password or


modifypassword.Theaccesscanalso bemodified.
Saveedition/ exitedition

willpromptdatahasbeenchanged.Areyousuretosave?If youwanttosaveit,

2.2.4 DeleteUser
Del user is to delete employees partial information or all information from
thedevice.Itisusedwhenthefollowingstateshappen:
1)Whenemployeesfingerprintorpasswordisnotneededanymore.
2)Whenemployeeleavestheposition.
Press/onmanageuser interfaceoruse queryuser toselecttheemployee
tobeedited.Click OK togetoperatingmenu,andthenselectdeleteuser.
Deleteuser:

Notice:OnlysomemodelshaveDelIDCardOnlyoptions.

Iftheuserhasnofingerprintorpassword,thecorrespondingitemisblueand
cannotbeoperated.Press/toselecttheitemtobeoperated.PressOKtopop

givecorrespondingprompt.PressESCtoreturnto manageuser page.
2.2.5 Add User
Inordertoadduserconvenientlyforoperator, adduser isconfiguredhere.The
functionisthesameasthatof 2.1AddUser.

2.3SMS
SMSis similarto notice. The operator can editthe notice content in advance
and set the receive user and appear period. SMS includes common SMS and
individual SMS. If common SMS is set,

icon will be displayed in

informationcolumnatthebottomofstandbyinterfaceinthespecifiedtime.Youcan
press shortcut (can be set in keyboard definition) to check SMS content. If
individual SMS is set, the employee who can receive SMS can see SMS after
successfulattendance.

PressNewtocreateanewSMS,presstoeditthecurrentSMS,pressDelete
tothecurrentSMS.

2.3.1SetSMS
AddSMS:
Press/inpopoutmenu, selectNewtoadd a SMS.
Starttime: ThetimewhenSMScomesintoeffect
Valid: SMS appears in the effective time. After the effective time, it wont
appear.
Type:
Individual: SMSaimedatindividualonly
Public: SMSabletobeseenbyallemployees
Reserved:PresetSMS,nodifferenceofindividualSMSorcommonSMS.
Operation:

Whenthecursorisonthetextbox,youcanpressshortcuttoenableT9input,
input SMS content. Press / to switch option input box. Press

changesettingorpressnumerickeyonsmallkeyboardtoinputvalue.
(1) If the selected type is individual SMS, distribute is usable. Here, it is to
distributeindividualSMStoemployee:

Press/to searchemployee.
Press OK toselecttheemployee,andSMSwillbedistributedtohim.
PressESC tosaveitandthenexit.

Notice: If exit without selecting any employee, the SMS type will become
preset.

(2)If the selected type is common SMS or preset SMS,distribute cannot be


used.Aftersetting,press OK tosaveitandreturntoSMSlist.
EditSMS:
Press/inpopoutmenutoselectEdit,andSMScanbeedited.
Theoperationisthesamewiththatof addSMS.
DeleteSMS:
Press/inthepopoutmenutoselectDelete,andtheselectedSMScan
bedeleted.Atthesametime,allinformationrelated withthisrecordcanbecleared.
2.3.2EmployeeCheckSMS

When userpasses verification, if the user has SMS, the SMS content will be
displayed.

The information display time length is 30 seconds. During this period, user
verificationcanbedone.Closethecurrentdisplaytoenterverificationinterface.

2.4 Workcode
Salary isbased on attendance.There are many worktypes for employees. An
employee may have different work type in different time period. Different work
types have different pays. Therefore, in order to distinguish different attendance
states when user is dealing with attendance data, the device has provided a
parametertomarkwhichattendancerecordbelongstowhichworktype.

2.4.2 Use the Work Code

2.5CardManagement
Support Mifare nontouch intelligent card with working frequency of
13.56MHZ. Integrate fingerprint attendance to other systems and support multi
verificationmodetomeetthedemandsofdifferentpeople.
Operation:

Press / to select your desired item, press OK to execute the current


selecteditem.
2.5.1Enroll Card
UseMifarecardasIDcard.Onlycardnumberisneededtoenroll.
Enrollment
Step1: Select enrollcard andthenpress OK.

Step 2:Presskeyboard to input the numberto be enrolled(ifthe numberhas


beentherealready,thedevicewillpromptyoutocopytheinformationtothecard),
andthenpress OK.

Step3: Thedevicepromptstoshowcard.
Step4: Putthecardintheinductionareauntiltheoperationissuccessful.
Verification:
Swaythecardintheinductionarea.Afterthedeviceinductsthecard,movethe
cardoff.Whentheverificationissuccessful,thedevicewillgiveprompt.

Tips: Please enter user access control option to modify the verification
modeasRF,orverificationwontbesuccessful.

2.5.2Enroll Fingerprint Card


Enrollfingerprintandwritefingerprintintocard.
Enrollment:
Step1: Select enrollfingerprintcard andpress OK.

Step 2: Use keyboard to input the number to be enrolled (if the number has
beentherealready,thedevicewillpromptyoutocopytheinformationtothecard),
andthenpress OK.Thedevicewillpromptyoutomoveoffyourfinger.

Step3: Pressfingerproperlythreetimes.
Step4: Devicepromptspleaseshowcard.

Step 5: Put the card in the induction area, waiting for the device to read
fingerprintdataintocarduntiltheenrollmentsucceeds.
Verification:
Swaythecardintheinductionarea.Afterthedeviceinductsthecard,movethe
card off. When the verification is successful, the device will give prompt. If the
pressedfingerprintisdifferentfromthat storedinthecard,theverificationwillfail.
2.5.3Clear Card Information

Therulesof propagandapicturesupload:
