Use
Bioadimide 100 is an effective additive to prevent polymer degradation due to an exposure to humidity and
acids. BioAdimide 100 helps maintain the molar mass and, thus, mechanical properties as well as melt
strength of your bio-based polyester in spite of detrimental processing steps.
Bioadimide 100 stabilizes bio-based polyesters and blends thereof. The chemical composition of BioAdimide
100 enables stabilization of bio-based polyesters with processing temperatures below 200C (392F).
Dosing:
We recommend a dosage of 0.5 pbw to 2.0 pbw. However, the right dosage of BioAdimide 100 depends on the
content of acid end groups, moisture content of the bio-based polyester, processing and drying conditions, and
the derived protective effect. To determine the required dosage level according to your needs, prior tests should
always be carried out. For a dosage of more than 2.0 pbw a plasticizer effect may be observed.
BioAdimide 100 is added as molten liquid. We recommend to melt BioAdimide 100 at 60 - 80C (140 - 176 F)
according to the handling information of the material safety data sheet.
Equipment:
BioAdimide 100 can be incorporated with standard equipment suitable for processing polyesters and
polyamides which allow for a proper additive dispersion. It is advisable to extrude with a twin screw extruder
providing a L/D ratio > 38:1.
BioAdimide 100 may be fed separately or as a dry-blend of the bio-based polyester at a pressure-less feeding
zone. A heated liquid feeder is recommended to prevent re-crystallization of BioAdimide 100 within the dosing
equipment.
Although the stabilizing effect is present, BioAdimide 100 is not recommended for processing at temperature
above 200C (392F). At processing temperature traces of volatile matters can escape which may temporarily

cause irritation of skin, eyes, and respiratory passages. In any case it is necessary to provide sufficient local
ventilation at all places where bio-polyesters are exposed to temperatures exceeding 100C (212F). In
particular it is necessary to avoid direct contact with liberated vapors.

Packing
Metal cans, content 10 kg (22 lbs)

Storage stability
BioAdimide 100 can be kept for at least 1 year under cool and dry conditions.

Handling
Consult material safety data sheet (MSDS) for additional handling information on BioAdimide 100.
