Ram Ke Naam review

Shubham Kumar (2012EE50558)

The movie revolves around the Babri Mosque and the lord Rams temple disputes. It
initiates with the establishment of an awakening towards religion, particularly for the
Hindus, but at the core, it proves to be a political agenda. As India is a diverse nation, and
Indian are too much invested into religions, so this was a step to gain advancement for the
political party BJP, towards a better future. The rumour seed of lord Rams birthplace,
at the location of Babri mosque, was sown by the British Empire. As they were threatened
by the growing Hindu-Muslim unity. There was a compromise between both the
communities to worship at the very same site. But the compromise broke down in 1949,
when few priests or Hindu militants, placed lord Rams idol inside the mosque. There were
disputes, but the District Magistrate of Ayodhya at that time was Mr. K.K. Nayar, who
proposed the Muslims that the idols cant be removed due to political and legal rules. The
media manipulated the the citizens of India, that the birth of lord Ram really took place at
the site of mosque. Abd indeed the innocent people of India were carried away by the
crowd. BJP (Bhartiya Janata Party) took the top priority, by announcing that a new temple
will be made to lord Ram, at the very same site of Babri Mosque. Hindus were delighted
with this news that BJP leader Mr. Lal Krishna Advani was on their side. But actually there
was no side at all. The people were just used, and they loved to be a part of this mass
movement to reach Ayodhya and turn down the mosque, for a big temple to lord Ram. Mr.
K.K. Nayar made this matter to reach to the High courts, and till the final judgement was
obtained, he refused the Muslims to offer prayers inside the mosque, and told them to
pray somewhere else. The matter remained in the court for very long time, and during that
time there were many riots, people disappeared, led to many killings. The adamant
attitude of politics and power, took many lives away. All these activities led to the growth
of hatred between both the communities, later Hindus and other community people took
the stand to despise the very sight of Muslims also. Now VHP (Vishwa Hindu Parishad) or
the World Hindu Organization came into picture, the respective political game was being
played by the heads as well members of this particular group. The Hindu Vote bank the
sole aim to be achieved the BJP, and VHP was helping it to get. They were not at all
concerned by the genocide, killings or devastation that would take place all over the
country, and to Muslims and Hindus apart from their majority areas. Being selfish was the
trend at that time. India was now stroked by tension, which was taking peoples life, as it
was getting worse. Amir Ali and Baba Ram Charan Das had made a pact of dividing the
Janambhoomi so Muslims could pray in one part and Hindus in the other. But all this effort
turned out to be a null. On the other hand BJP tasted success, the number of Member of

Parliament, reached from 2 to 85, in 1990. Every child is a Rams child and will work for
the temple were the statements shouted by every BJP member. People living in different
states were eager to welcome Advani during his 10k km yatra. As they started believing
the rumour. They were all provoked, that if they are Hindus, then they should claim for
their temple. New groups such as Bajrang Dal came into existence, in addition (VHP),
Rashtriya Swayam Sevak (RSS). BJP. VHP, RSS, and Bajrang dal are a joint family. Members
of these groups were ready to give lives as well as take it, if someone opposes the agenda
of work. They were totally unknown with the facts that what is going on. They were just
sheeps which were herded by political leaders for the political party. The higher caste in
Hindu community such as Brahmins and Rajpoots were more eager to build a temple by
demolishing the mosque. The lower caste was not interested in these political affairs. In
the interior villages of India, there were no disputes between Hindus and Muslims over a
mosque or a temple. They were just concerned about their survival. The funds that were
donated in the name of Ram Janambhoomi temple were added to the accounts of political
leaders, religious gurus and in the account of VHP and BJP. Minority was thought to invest
for the real cause. All these tension was created for money and power. A bureaucrat who
issued summon to the VHP to examine their accounts, was suspended and threatened to
be killed, if he interferes with the matter again. According to him all these issues have left
a scar in the very foundation of our system, and its very difficult to remove it. Muslims
were afraid of 3oth October the day of demolition of mosque. They were thinking as their
end of life is approaching, and were threatened to go out or talk to each other. Every new
day, was a day, full of fear. Sentiments were so frayed that there was no hope for a
solution.
Everywhere those with money oppress those without. The Babri Mosque issue is not all a
religious one. This movie depicts this very well. Whole country was in flames, but the VHP
leaders never went to pray lord Ram at his so called Janambhoomi. The priest allotted
there had to give petitions to carry out prayers, as VHP and other groups just created
disruptions and problems. Lord Rams political idea was prosperity for all. Like the way
when we eat, all the parts of our body are fed, so this world is a body, and all parts are
different people, whatsoever if they belong to different communities, they are humans.
But all these ideals have been murdered.

Hindus claim Ram as the one

Muslims claim Rahim
Then they kill each other
Knowing not
