board display. Elaborate on why each skill is needed.

2. Which skills do you already have? Recall your past experiences in making board
displays. How do you practice these skills?

the following statements carefully before you observe.

What is the lesson about?
What visual aids/learning resources is the teacher using?
Observe and take notes on how the teacher presents/uses the learning
resources.
4. Closely observe the learners response to the teachers use of learning
resources. Listen to their verbal responses. What do their responses indicate?
Do their responses show attentiveness, eagerness and understanding?
5. Focus on their non-verbal responses. Are they learning forward showing their
interest on the lesson and the materials? Are they looking towards the
direction of the teacher and the materials? Do their actions show
attentiveness, eagerness and understanding?

of the visuals

Geoboard is a
good material to
use mostly if the
lesson is about
various shapes
and its sides. It
can also be used
to determine the
exact length of
each side of a
figure.
Manila paper can
be used on any
subject. It is one
of the most
common teaching
aids used. It has a
function that can
lessen the work of
the teacher and to
be more focus in
discussing the
lesson than
writing on the
board.

YOUR ANALYSIS
What do you think prompted the teacher to choose the materials/learning resources that
he/she used?
Mrs. Co used those materials on her class because it helps the students learn the lesson easier by
having a guide to the lesson. She chose the geoboard on the lesson about areas, by having a visual
representation; the students can determine the length of the figure just by looking at the board. She
wrote the activity on the Manila paper, so she saves up more time to explain the activity more clearly.
What difficulties, if any, did the teacher experience? How can this be managed?
The only difficulty she experience on the lesson is the projector because the position of the
whiteboard on the room is higher than the table so it needs to be adjusted and the size of the
whiteboard is not fitted to the screen of the projector so there are excess spaces. This can be
managed by changing the placement of the whiteboard and give space for the projector to be placed
on the room.

Over-all, were the learning resources/materials used effectively? Why? Why not?
Over-all, the lesson goes smoothly and there werent difficulties on handling the lesson. She has
maximized the use of the learning materials there, using the geoboard and projector to represent the
lesson and using the manila paper for the class activity. She delivers the topic nicely with the help of
the materials and the students understood the lesson, answered the activity given to them with some
questions asked.

YOUR REFLECTIONS
1. Put yourself in the place of the teacher. What would you do similarly and what would
you do differently if you will teach the same lesson to the same group of students? Why?
