First National BoG Held at Ahmedabad
The first National Board of Governors meeting of Society Year 2015-16 was held on June 13 and 14 at YMCA, Ahmedabad.
It was chaired by National President K. Ramachandran, and was attended by representatives of almost all Chapter and Subchapters along with other Society officers and senior members. The two day meeting was organised by Ahmedabad Chapter
to coincide with Jal-Vayu-Agni – a one day seminar – and the eve of their 25th anniversary.

The Raipur team takes the oath of office

The Raipur Sub-chapter held the
installation ceremony of its CWC on
May 18 at Hotel Royale Ambience in
the presence of Regional Director West1, S.G. Ghime, who also conducted an
orientation programme. Anil Shukla
took the oath as President. Nishesh
Khare is the President-Elect, Rajendra
Solanki is the Secretary, and Pratik
Khandelwal is the Treasurer.
The installation ceremony was followed by a seminar on Hot Water Generators by Jitendra Gangrade, Business
Development Manager, Cristopia Energy
Systems. He introduced Kristherm mini
heat pumps, designed for high efficiency
operation over a wide range of operating conditions to meet the domestic hot
water, preheating and building heating
requirement in hotels, hospitals, pharmaceutical industry, process industries,
residences and commercial complexes.

International Conference in Jaipur
Global Institute of Technology (GIT),
Jaipur organized an International Conference on Production and Automation,
ICPA-2015, in association with ISHRAE
on April 17-18. It was inaugurated by Anil
Gupta, President, ISHRAE Jaipur Chapter.
The inaugural addresses were
delivered by Dr. Renu Joshi, Director
GIT, Dr. Prakash Ramani, Principal GCT,
Prof. R.P. Tiwari, ISTE Chairman, and
Prof. R.P. Sharma, Secretary, Institution
of Engineers (India) (IE(I)). The keynote
address was given by Prof. P.N. Rao from
the University of Northern Iowa, USA.
Bhavana Mathur, Head of Mechanical
Department and Convenor of ICPA-2015,
spoke about the conference objectives.
Madhavendra Saxena, Asstt. Prof. and
Co-convener, ICPA-2015 delivered the

organised on June
27 by Vadodara
Chapter. It was attended by about
70 delegates rep- Yogesh Kansara explains best installation

Mumbai Chapter conducted a training programme on
Green and Sustainability on June 2 in its training room. It was
attended by 17 members. The faculty was Deepa Parekh,
Project Manager, Environmental Design Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
The course contents included technical terms relevant
to building performance, understanding the impact of
building design on energy use, benchmarks for building
performance, rules of thumb to quantify daylight access,
lighting and water use, and correlation between theory and
practical applications.

members on Basic Electricals for HVAC
by T. Nagaraja at ISHRAE office on April
24. It was attended by 40 members.

On the second day, the Guests of
Honour were R.S. Saxena, Treasurer,
ISHRAE Jaipur Chapter and P.C. Gupta,
Head Of Quality Assurance, Ordnance
Factory. A.K. Joshi, GM, Technical Services, CIPET, Jaipur, delivered a lecture on
injection moulding, and P.C. Gupta on
quality control in production and automation. In the following sessions, technical papers were presented on the theme
Advances in Energy and Production.
Around 50 students made presentations on the second day. Certificates
were awarded to these students.

Mumbai Chapter held a one day learning session on
Design of HVAC System using Chilled Beams on April 24.
Ms. Maija Virta was the faculty. There were seventeen
participants. This was the first training session to be
conducted in the training room of the newly inaugurated
Mumbai Chapter office in Andheri.
Maija Virta has over 20 years of experience in construction
and HVAC industry in Europe, and specialises in sustainable
building policies and technologies.
