Fund raising

Role
Lead the institutional fund raising team and shall be accountable for achieving
organizational institutional fund raising targets.
Develop, support and maintain institutional donor relationships for Magic Bus India
Foundation.
Job Responsibilities
Proposal Development
To enhance Magic Bus capability for producing high quality concept notes and
proposals and independently taking care of new proposal submission as per the
funding agencies guidelines.
Grants Management
To ensure that all grants are managed and reported to grantees as per the agreed
contract(s).
To make sure that the implementation of grant supported projects are as per the
predefined timelines and budgetary spending.
New Initiatives

To explore new business/ grants/ funding prospects in India as per various institutional
funding agencies’ thematic and financial portfolio enhancement.

Understanding of institutional partnership at national, regional and international level
is desirable.
Strong experience of managing relationships with institutional donors along with a
good working knowledge of national/ international development issues.

Role
Lead and oversee the regional implementation and operational delivery of the Magic
Bus ‘Lakshya’ Livelihoods programme that supports youth in the 17-25 age group into
jobs and further education
Specific Responsibilities













Provide senior leadership to livelihoods staff in the region ensuring high quality
delivery of need assessment, career counselling, skills training, mentoring, job
and education placement and post placement support to youth.
Performance manage the Lakshya programme in the region, undertake the
required monitoring and evaluation work and deliver performance reports to the
Head of Youth Development, Regional Head and Funders.
Develop partnerships with vocational training institutes and specialist Livelihood
organisations that enable youth to achieve positive progressions into work or
further education.
Create strong strategic partnerships with regional employers and secure
attractive job opportunities for youth by effectively selling the benefits of
working with Magic Bus.
Work with the Region Head, District Programme Managers and State Trainer to
ensure Livelihoods staff have the tools, skills and knowledge to successfully
deliver employability skills training, mentoring, need assessment, placements
and support for youth.
Manage the delivery of Magic Bus Livelihoods activities including our Livelihood
Centres in the region.
Communicate and implement national updates to the Lakshya programme in
the region.
Identify and respond to issues, opportunities and risks in the region that
influence the success of the programme.
Undertake regional level research to identify youth need, demand for different
job and education pathways and market developments around employment and
training.
Represent Magic Bus in interactions and negotiations regarding the Livelihoods
programme with funders, external audiences, partners and the public.
Develop methods and partnerships to support youth to follow self-employment
and entrepreneurial pathways.
Build partnerships with colleges, education providers, universities and
Government training schemes to secure a good range of education options for
youth requiring further study and training before starting their chosen career.
Work directly with youth as required including induction, need assessment,
training delivery and mentoring/support.
Monitor and manage the regional Lakshya programme budget.
Ensure all Magic Bus and partner work with youth is safe, follows equalities
practices and adheres to our Child/Youth Protection processes and procedures.

Strong leadership skills including ability to influence a wide range of internal
and external stakeholders.
Ability to forge excellent relationships with youth 17-25 years and a good
understanding of best practice techniques for achieving and sustaining youth’s
positive engagement with Magic Bus.
Good salesperson who can spot opportunities and identify incentives that will
hook the target audience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work as part of the senior regional team and successfully join up work
with District Programme Managers, State Trainers and the Region Head.
Excellent professional use of oral and written English.

Qualification and Experience (essential unless otherwise stated):










Degree level qualification in social care, management or related field.
At least 3 years’ experience of delivering work to young people.
Track record of supporting youth into work and/or education or achieving other
successful outcomes for youth 17-25 years.
Experience of delivering training to youth.
Team management including supervision and appraisal of frontline staff.
Performance and quality management of children/youth programmes.
Experience of funder relationships and managing reporting requirements.
Strong understanding of youth’s employment, education and training needs and
experience of target setting with youth.
Programme monitoring and evaluation experience.
Experience of working with employers to create work experience and/or job
opportunities for youth (desirable).
Experience of counselling or advising youth on possible education and career
pathways that will enable them to reach their goals (desirable).
