1. Admin Login
To manage your website, edit information and add photos, etc, you will first need to login to the administrative area.
The following screenshot shows you how login panel appears.

Admin panel access

The admin panel for your site will be accessible by adding “/administrator” to the end of your website address.
EG: www.yourwebsite.com/administrator
Once you log-in you will be presented with the control panel, which you use to manage and update the site.

Control Panel

The control panel provides a set of linked icons for easy access to different areas of your website.
All the content areas can also be accessed using the horizontal menu underneath the Impart Media logo. Simply hover over
any menu item to access its sub-menu.
The following screenshot shows you how Control panel appears.

This will load the list of articles.  Edit the article using the WYSIWYG editor and article options. You can also filter your list using the dropdown menus. The easiest way to do this when you have a lot of content in the site is to type the article name into the search filter. 3.

Once the file has successfully uploaded. press the “new folder” button at the top right. Then find and select the document file you want. Select the folder by clicking on it to open it. Click on the file and then when it appears in the window above. How to embed YouTube code into an article  First. a URL will be displayed for you to share. locate the Source Code icon and select it.  In the WYSIWYG editor. try adding some text into the article BEFORE you press the Source code button. go to your article and open it to edit it. just find this text.Joomla User Guide 3. and locate the video you want to embed into your site. Beneath of the video. Once you select "Share". but there are a few keys to successfully installing a video into your site. you need to get the embed code. Then. If you select the Source Code button again. Be sure to save your work. To re-publish the article. without un-publishing the menu it is attached to. Published Un-published  REMINDER If you want to keep the article. by your website visitors. go to the public webpage to see the video and test that it appears correctly. It is best to un-publish the menu item as well as the article. you should un-publish the menu item it is linked to.6 Un-publish a page/article If you un-publish an article. Press it and make sure it plays properly. You will need to locate the place you want the video to appear. but you just don’t want it to show on the website. This will change to a red circle. press the red circle to change it back to a green check mark. This option is best if you want to keep the page for future use. and then paste the code in. You can edit it’s placement if you need to.Joomla User Guide The article page will show you the HTML version of the page. 3. so it will no longer be able to be seen or accessed on your website. (eg: for a seasonal event article that can be updated and re-published in the following years)   To un-publish an article. you will return to the normal view of the editor. and leave the article as it is. so that a tick appears in it. 3.9 Recover a deleted article If you delete an article in error it may still be available in the “Trash” folder. by your website visitors. These options are found in the “publishing options” section on the right hand column.  Find the item you want to restore. com Page | 19 . You can edit this though the editor to make it look the right size in your Module but when the page is loading. it is not changing the size of the actual stored image. Be sure to click on the Update button to save your work. it still loads a 1000 x 1000 pixel image because that is what is stored on file.3 Editing the dimensions of an image Although it is best practice to edit the dimensions of the image before getting it into the Article or Module. you can edit the dimensions using the Image Manger if you need to.impartmedia. For example: You upload a 1000 x 1000 pixel image but the module is only 200 x 200 pixels. you should not use this for editing more than 5 to 10 pixels. Even though you are editing the image to fit the Module. This can create unnecessary slowness as your page loads onto computers or other devices. It is best practice edit your images prior to uploading them into your website.    SPECIAL TIP Even though you can edit the dimensions here. you can edit the dimensions of your image. Using the Dimensions tools. go to your article and click on the image to select it. the Preview window will give you a peek at what your changes will look like. The default folder that Media Manager uses is the Images folder. first select which folder you would like your file to be placed in when it is uploaded.    In the file box that pops up. You will receive a blue message indicating that you successfully uploaded a file and the file will appear in the Files section of the Media Manager.Joomla User Guide 5. locate the file that you want to upload on your computer. Once the name of the file appears in the window next to the Choose File button. Select it and then click the “Open” button.  Once you have selected the folder that you will upload the file to.

You can also delete multiple files at once by checking the boxes underneath the desired files.4 Deleting files and images from the Media Manager You can also easily remove files from the Media Manager. Be very careful when deleting files using the Media Manager. To delete a file.

Menu Manager To access the menu manager hover over Menus and click on Menu Manager. the main horizontal navigation bar uses a menu called “Main Menu”. You can publish & un-publish menu items by clicking the green checkmark or red dot. Underneath each title. 4. Indicators show which items are grouped as sub-menus under other menu items. Or place a number in each of the input boxes and click on the save icon in the right hand corner of the “Ordering” column header. Row Ordering: Use the blue arrows to move the current row up or down. The vast majority of links will point to a single article. is the value for alias. “Footer menu” etc. Status: This indicates if the menu item is published and available to be seen on the website front-end. just like in the user manager. The “Title” column contains the wording as it appears in the menu on the front end. This option lets you choose where a menu item will appear in a list.
