BIOGRAFIJA/ BIOGRAPHY Roen je 1987. u Bajinoj Bati.

2006. zavrio je Umetniku kolu u Uicu, smer


konzervator kulturnih dobara. Diplomirao
2010. (odsek zidno slikarstvo) na Filoloko
-umetnikom fakultetu u Kragujevcu u klasi
profesora Zorana Ivanovia. 2011. zavrio
je master studije. Zaposlen na predmetu
Crtanje, Crtanje i slikanje i Akt, kao asistent
FILUM-a, Kragujevac. Od 2012. doktorant
na ALU u Beogradu, kod mentora Vladimira
Velikovia. lan ULUS-a od 2012. ivi, radi i
stvara na relaciji Beograd-Kragujevac.

Born in 1987 in Bajina Bata. In 2006 he finished the Artistic School in Uice, streamline
the conserver of the cultural assets. Graduated in 2010 (The Department of wall painting)
at the Faculty of Philology and Arts in the
class of the professor Zoran Ivanovi. In 2011
finished his master studies. Currently employed on the subjects of Drawing, Drawing
and painting and Act at FILUM, Kragujevac.
Since 2012 a student at the doctoral studies
in Belgrade, where his mentor is Vladimir
Velikovi. The member of ULUS, since 2012.

EROTIKON 1 - SANJARI/ THE DREAMERS


Stvaralatvo mladog beogradskog umetnika Mia Filipovca uvodi nas na neposredan
i provokativan nain u jedan egzotini vrt
uivanja koji egzistira na nejasnom, neuhvativom podruju izmeu sna ili meditativnog
stanja, i stvarnosti. Poznatu temu uivanja u
idilinom vrtu interpretiranu bezbroj puta u
delima starih majstora poput Boa, Ticijana,
Fragonara, autor obraeje u ciklusu od est
stilski ujednaenih radova razliitog formata. Serija je zapoeta 2010. godine crteom
iz ciklusa Erotika koji je tada predstavljen na
diplomskoj izlobi autora, a zaokruena u
celoviti ansambl ove godine. Tematski, ovo
slikarstvo je blisko umanovievim idskim
bahantkinjama. Tehnike i anrovske odrednice su tradicionalne: tu, grafit, akrilna boja,
papir; crte kao baza za svaki drugi vid likovnog izraavanja; akt - osnovni umetniki
anr. Ipak nain na koji Filipovac servira ovaj
svojevrsni doruak na travi je nov. Radovi se
odlikuju finim, anatomski tanim crteom
upotpunjenim ogranienim ali efektnim plasmanom boje, elementima kolane tehnike,
kao i kompozicijskom uravnoteenou. Ovi
Adami i Eve, omamljeni nagonom za ivotom,
po monumentalnosti su bliski predstavama
zidnog slikarstva koje je osnovni poziv Mia
Filipovca. U stilu se osea i diskretna slinost
sa modnim crteom, koji je, takoe, u skladu
sa sklonostima i interesovanjima autora.
Nosioci radnje izgledaju kao savreni futuristiki ljubavnici iz manga stripova; kao fantastina bia ija je postojbina arkadijski vrt
nabujao od zdravlja, sveine i svakojake flore
i faune. Ustvari, oni su obii, realni ljudi, osloboeni od stega gradskog ivota i briga sveta odraslih. Akteri lebde zaneseni u dubini

The works of the young Belgrade artist Mio


Filipovac leads us in a direct and provocative way
to an exotic garden of enjoyment which exists in
an unclear, uncatchable area between sleep or
meditating state, and reality. The author treats
the well-known theme of enjoyment in the idyllic which has been interpreted in a numberless
ways by the old masters such as Bosch, Titian,
Fragonard, in a cycle made of eight stylistically
compact works of different formats. The series
was started in 2010, by a drawing from the Erotics cycle which was at the time presented at the
graduation exhibition of the author, and made
into a complete collection this year. Thematically, this way of painting is close to the umanovi
bacchante girls from id. The technical and genre specifications are traditional: ink, slate-pencil,
the acrylic paint, paper; the drawing as a base
for any other way of visual expression; nude figures - the basic artistic genre. However, the way
Filipovac serves this special breakfast on the grass
is novel. The works are characterized by the fine,
anatomically exact drawing combined with limited but effective display of colour, elements of
collage technique, as well as the compositional
balance. These particular Adam and Eve lured
by the instinct to live, are by their monumentality close to the representations of wall painting
which is the original profession of Miso Filipovac.
A discrete closeness to modern drawing can be
felt, which is also in line with the inclinations and
interests of the author.
The main characters look like the perfect lo-vers
from the mango comics; like fantastic beings
whose homeland is the Arcadia-like garden, flourishing in health and freshness, abundant in different flora and fauna. In fact, they are ordinary,
realistic people, free from all the limitations of

da se otrgne mentalnom zagaenju i prikljui njihovoj izazovnoj igri. Kao da ga zovu
da se na as odvoji od smartfona, tableta
i ostalih gedeta, da stavi na off prijem potresnih, zabrinjavajuih vesti i prosto se prepusti prirodnim lepotama i oseanju slobode
koje donose boravak u vodi, na vazduhu,
nudizam, seks, smeh Ma koliko da mislimo
da smo odmakli u procesu razbijanja tabua
i demistifikacije golotinje, predstave potpuno nagih tela po pravilu deluju razbuujue
na um posmatraa. Ikonografija ovih radova
je erotska, ali ne vulgarna ili pornografska,
ve svea, lirska, i puna poleta, nalik onoj iz
italijanske kinematografije ili nemih filmova.
Sve na ovim crteima je u pokretu, sve pulsira
i treperi - koloritne predstave uskomeane
vode, mokra kosa devojaka, studije genitalija izvedene uz punu linijsku rasko, atmosfera puna nesputanih strasti i impulsa.
Pored erotske konotacije, ove kompozicije
imaju karakter zapisa due, tj. karakter emotivne uspomene na bezbrino vreme kada se
izleavalo na plai, uivalo u dokolici, etnji,
u igri sa decom i ivotinjama. Posmatrajui
ove moderne anr scene priseamo se davnih
leta u Dalmaciji, lenjih avgustovskih popodneva na Adi o kojima pie Momo Kapor, dodira sunca na koi zategnutoj od soli. Imamo
utisak da ujemo lagani dez, rege ritam ili
neku bosanova muziku, dok itamo Erotikon
Mia Filipovca. Prizori mladih ljudi koji na
sebi ne nose nita, osim peraja ili maske za
ronjenje, zaista deluju blago nostalgino,
kao fotografisani momenti umetnikove line
stvarnosti. Osloboenom Erosu i Muzi koja

The main characters float enthralled in the depth
of the blue sea (or it might be the universe?), in
the state of ecstasy, as if they invite the observer to set free from the mental pollution and join
their luring dance. It seems as if they bid him
to spend a minute away from the smartphone, a
tablet and other technological gadgets, to put off
to receiving him the shocking, worrying news and
let himself open to natural beauties and the feeling of freedom brought by the stay in the water,
clean air, nudism, sex, laughterNo matter how
much we think that we are far in the process of
breaking the taboos and the demystification of
the nudity, the representations of the completely
nude bodies as a rule has an waking effect on the
mind of the observer. The iconography of these
works is erotic, but not vulgar or pornographic;
rather lyric, full of buoyancy, like the one in the
Italian films or the silent movies. Everything in
the drawings is moving, pulsating, and trembling
- the colourful presentations of the stirring waters, wet girls hair, the genitals study carried out
with the full linear luxury, the atmosphere of unlimited passions and impulses.
Apart from the erotic connotations, these compositions have a special character of soul confessions, i.e. the character of the emotional memory of the carefree time when one could take it
easy on the beach enjoyed the idleness, the walks,
playing with kids and animals. Observing these
genre scenes we recollect the far away summers
in Dalmatia, idle and lazy August afternoons on
Ada, which Momo Kapor describes, the touch of
the sun on the skin tightened by the salt. We have
the impression of hearing the slow pace jazz, the
reggae rhythm or some Bosa Nova music, as we
read the Erotikon by Miso Filipovac. The scenes

duboku melanholiju tako svojstvenu mladima
koji odbijaju da prihvate stvarnost razliitu
od one unutranje, idealizovane; nekada otkrivajuu ivu prirodu portretisanog; nekada
spokoj i stanje duhovne harmonije na licima
ljubavnika koji uivaju u odmoru, oputanju,
milovanju. Ta lica opisuju realna stanja savremenog oveka koji protivteu modernom
gradskom ivotu trai u neiskvarenom svetu u
kome se ari ivota mogu konzumirati punim
pluima i bez straha od osude.
Vrei analizu motiva, ideja, likovnog jezika
valja registrovati kontekst u kom ovi radovi
nastaju, upravo zbog njihove divergentnosti
u odnosu na sveoptu zastupljenost poetike
beznadenosti i razoaranja u svim sferama
umetnosti. Savremeni sociolozi su saglasni da
ivimo u epohi koja je raskrstila sa pojmovima
ljubavi, romantike i oseajnosti i okarakterisala ih kao arhaine modele ponaanja zaostale
od prethodnih generacija. Raamo se u vremenu koje velia prezaposlenost kao poeljan
oblik ivljenja; u kome se Instagram estetika
dri za izuzetan vid vizuelne komunikacije. Mladi umetnici poput Mia Filipovca, u
drutvu koje i dalje pokuava da se oslobodi
ukorenjenog konzervativizma, uporno i dosledno pokuavaju da se izbore za svoje mesto
na umetnikoj sceni negujui sopstvene ideje
i stil, i verujui da umetnost ne trpi foliranje.
Njihova borba za panju publike, za izlagaki
i medijski prostor, za drutveno priznanje je

photographed moments of the artists personal reality. The freed Eros and Muse lurking nostalgia,
were given the shape of the artists friend, a lady
friend from young age, unrequited love, so thus
it seems that we know them. By the way, Filopovacs faces arouse a certain association of the
works of Egon Schiele and Lucian Freud - they are
sometimes deep in thoughts and show deep melancholy which is typical of the young people who
refuse to accept the reality so different from their
inner one which is idealized; sometimes uncovering the lively nature of the portrayed; sometimes
the serenity and the state of the spiritual harmony on the faces of the lovers enjoying holidays,
relaxation, caressing. These faces describe the
real states of the modern man who seeks for the
equipoise to the modern city life in the untouched
world in which the beauty of life can be consumed
to the full without the fear of being condemned.
By analyzing the motives, ideas, visual language it is necessary to mark the context in which
these works are made, because of their very divergence in reference to the overall presence of
the helplessness and disappointment poetics in all
spheres of art. Modern sociologists are compliant
with the fact that we live in the time which has
broken away with the notions of love, romance
and sensitivity and characterized them as the archaic models of behavior inherited from the previous generations. We are born in the time which
glorifies being over-busy as a desired manner of
life; in which the Instagram esthetics is believed
to be an extraordinary way of visual communication. The young artists like Miso Filipovac, keep
persistently and consistently trying to fight for
their place on the art scene, in the society which

stalna. Na galeristima i institucijama je drugi


deo odgovornosti u reavanju sloenog zadatka njihove afirmacije. Dela Filipovca ne sadre nita nadrealno niti nejasno, apstraktno.
U njima nema niega to poziva na revoluciju
ili na kritiku politike reima, niega to nas
dovodi u sumnju, to tei da nas prizove pameti i otvori nam oi pred socijalnim problemima. Njegov bunt ogleda se u pozivu na
udaljavanje od tereta svakodnevice, kroz
preputanje ulima i spoznaji telesnog.
Veliki broj kulturnih stvaralaca mlae generacije se bavi problematikom pojedinca koji
je sputan nemislosrdnim zakonima sistema i
ugroen demagogijom ideologija. Ovog puta
gledamo stvarna lica, ali ne lica stradalnika
rata, niti heroja dananjih reprezentativnih,
paradnih portreta, ve slike ljudi eljnih
ivota, avantura, ljubavi, zabave, egzotinih
putovanja. Ona nas gledaju direktno u oi
propagirajui slobodu u ponaanju, izraavanju, u ostvarivanju fantazija. Ciklus radova Erotikon 1 - Sanjari ne donosi niti jednu
negativnu konotaciju. ak i kada tei finoj
provokaciji, umetnik nastoji da pokrene samo
pozitivne vibracije. Plodne forme obnaenih

is still trying to eradicate the conservatism, by


nourishing their own ideas and style, believing
that art cannot cater for being fake. Their struggle for the audience attention, for the exhibition
and media space, for the social recognition is
constant. It is up to the gallery owners and other
institutions to take the other piece of the responsibility in solving their complex task of affirmation. The works of Filipovac do not contain anything surreal, nor vague, abstract. They do not
call for revolution or the criticism of the regimes
policy, nothing of bringing up the doubt, which
inclines towards the calling people to come to
their senses or opening our eyes in front of the
social problems. His riot can be noticed in his
call for alienate from the burden of everyday
life, by letting go to the senses and perceptions
of the body.
A great number of artists and writers of the
younger generation deal in their works with the
problems of the individual who is limited by the
ruthless laws of the system and threatened by the
ideology demagogy. This time, however, we look
at real faces, but not the faces of the war victims
nor heroes of todays representative, parade portraits, rather the pictures of people eager to live,
to have adventures, love, fun, exotic trips. They
look at us straight in the eye propagating the
freedom of behavior, expression, and phantasies
realization. The Cycle of works Erotikon 1 The
Dreamers does not bring any negative connotation. Even when it strives for fine provocation,
the artist works hard on stirring just the positive
vibrations. The fertile forms of nude bodies, the
accentuated atmosphere of love exhilaration,
and the refined use of colour, the rich and versatile line give this art a lyrical tone typical for all
the phases of Filipovacs work.
