General aim of the lesson will be:


to introduce to students new vocabulary about family members,
to revise the colours, numbers, prepositions in, on, under, next to,
and the vocabulary about school objects and toys

Stages of the lesson


1. Warm- up :
the T will ask if there are any absent students,
then a short revision of the previous lessons will start.
The T will stick on the bb some cards, then she will
nominate one student who will come to the bb, choose

one card, turn it and say the word. The cards will have
either a colour, a number or an object.
On the overhead projector the teacher will open a game:
Spinning, and the students will hear a word and they will
have to say what picture should the teacher click on.

2. Presentation:

The T will introduce the aim of the new lesson to the


students- that is new vocabulary about families and
family members. So the T will write on the bb the title of
the new lesson: 4 MY FAMILY.

Listening 1
Pre listening: The T will put a picture of a star on the bb

and ask the students what it is :


around the star,
the pictures of the members of the Star Family will be
shown by the T, and the students will be asked who they
are.

While listening: The students are asked to open their


books at page 20. They must look at ex 1/20, and while
listening they must point the correct picture and repeat
after the CD. Then they will repeat all the words in chorus
in exercise 2/20

After listening: the T will ask the students to look back at


the pictures with Star family and she will ask the students
to give short answers with YES/ NO. Pointing to the
members of the Star family the T will ask:
Is she the sister?
No , mother.

Listening 2
Pre listening: The T will ask the students to open their
notebook at page 20, ex 1. They will have to match the
halves of the pictures and say the family members.

While listening: The students are asked to open their


books at page 21. They must look at ex 3/21, and while
listening they must say the correct number.

After listening: the T will ask the students to do ex 4/21,


and now they will hear on the CD the number of the picture
and they must say the member of the family.

After each task, the teacher will check all the students
answers orally.

3. Controlled practice:

The students will look at ex 2/ 20 in their notebooks. They


will have to listen to the CD and colour the cars of each
member of the family as they hear on CD. Then together
with the T the answers will be checked.
In exercise 3/21, they have to listen and draw lines from the
people to the drawings. Here they must pay attention at
the member of the family and the prepositions.

In exercise 9/24, they will be asked in turns to say what


they can see in the pictures. Then they have to decide if the
word starts with the letter / sound B and circle it.
In exercise 10/ 24, again, they must listen to the Cd, look at
the pictures and number them in the order they hear on
the Cd. Their answers will be orally checked with the
teacher.

4. Less- controlled practice: the students are asked to turn


back at page 25 in their textbooks, at exercise 10. They will be
shown the animation of the story with the Toys in the Toy-box.
They will watch the video twice, then the teacher asks them
what happened.
Then they will listen again but the story will be mixed. So
they will have to listen and say the number of the picture
from their textbook. Ex 11/25
Just for fun, looking at the overhead projector, the students
will have to rearrange the photos in the story. They will
have to say the correct number for each picture; of course
their textbooks will be closed.
5. Feedback: students will do as homework in their notebooks
exercise 4/ 21, they will have to draw a picture of their family.

In case there is time left, the students will work at


the Revision on page 26 in the textbook, they will listen to the
CD and say the number of the picture, and then they will
answer the questions on the CD with yes/ no. And in the
notebooks, page 26, exercises 1,2.
