By Alexander Mendoza Rancho Cucamonga PT Cruiser Cruisin’ Club Founder Cruisin’ Club Membership Hello Pt Cruisers and welcome to another newsletter issue. This month it gives me great pleasure in announcing the beginning of a great thing that has developed within the club. Club President Ken Brownell announced that his selection for Vice President was Gloria Aguirre. Since Gloria came aboard as the Club Vice President she has made it clear that she will bring good things to this club’s organization and being in a leadership role position she will not hesitate to implement her ideas which will improve the club and increase the membership throughout the year. One of the things that I need help on from time to time is publishing this monthly newsletter and Vice President Gloria Aguirre has volunteered to help me with that. Of course I immediately accepted her offer and thanked her. Considering her experience in working with several publishing programs such as Microsoft Word 2007 I decided to ask her if she would consider being the Assistant Editor for this newsletter which she has agreed to. The cruises we have been on for the months of January and February have been just great even though they weren’t too far away but the one for March is going to be awesome for sure. We will be traveling to Laughlin for the annual 2010 Riverrun Car Show hosted by Dave Davidson. Our club will be leaving California on th nd Friday the 19 and will return on the 22 of March. Rancho is known from California to New York and many places in between so it is no wonder that we have on our club roster several people from Yakima, Washington - Jerry & Rita Gillespie whom we have never met but will be looking forward to meeting at the Riverrun Car Show. It is said that good things come to people who are just plain good inside and when they least expect it, so for us this is it. Welcome Jerry and Rita - and of course their good looking PT “Spidey”. A Cruise Is A Brief Period In Time For Memories “Let’s Cruise & Enjoy The Moment”

~ By Gloria Aguirre ~ Rancho Cucamonga PT Cruiser Cruisin’ Club Vice President The PT Cruiser Connection As a relatively new member to Rancho Cucamonga PT Cruiser Cruisin’ Club I thought I would ask myself what kind of music do I like to listen to when on the road cruising to our next destination. When I am by myself all I have to do is please myself. One day it might be Country Western, the next day Oldies but Goodies, Soft Rock or good old Rock and Roll. The choices are endless. The radio, tapes, CD’s, and Syrus are all at our finger tips. You all know the feeling that when there is another person in the car, things get a little complicated. I remember as a child, I really enjoyed the Country music being played on the radio especially if we were headed to a hamburger stand or a drive-in. When I became a teenager I couldn’t stand music from the forties and my face would show it to my Stepfather’s displeasure. Even now whenever one of my foreign exchange students is in my car they always ask, “What kind of music is that”, and without hesitation they proceed to change the radio station more toward their liking. Everyone must have at least one story to share. I would love to hear from you describing your experience while driving with others. Does everyone agree problems arise when you have others in the car? Are you the accommodating driver that takes everyone’s opinion into consideration or are you the take charge controlling type and listen to only what you want?
Come on folks let’s fess up to the truth. I would like to invite you to submit your favorite story on how to resolve differences in deciding what kind of music to listen to. You don’t have to be a Club Member to write to me. You can send me your real life stories to firstname.lastname@example.org and you just might see your story in our next Newsletter. Thank you.

Queen of the Road If there is anything I can say that I’ve learned since joining RCPTCCC is patience. Oh, yes! I find it hard to believe that this Queen of the Road has finally learned a little patience. It’s not how fast I can go anymore without getting a speeding ticket, but how well can I follow directions from the lead car on our car cruise and instructions from the last car. My first big cruise was back in October, 2009 when we were headed toward Laughlin under beautifully clear skies used desert back roads and stopping midway for a bite to eat and some ice cream. We usually cruise with about eight sharp looking PT Cruisers in a nice clean line, just like we learned in kindergarten. Alex Mendoza is always our front car while Tommy Dorsey takes the last position. This was a real test on whether my temperament was suited to being a car club member in good standing. This was important to me. I did not want to get kicked off the club because of poor or reckless driving habits. You’ve heard all the jokes about women drivers, right. Well I couldn’t let anyone know that I sometimes exceed the speed limit. So now, in toe, you can find me somewhere in the middle, listening to the sounds of the road, and taking pride that somehow at this age, I can finally follow instructions and not worry about failing the team of wonderfully cautious drivers who call themselves car club members. Oh, by the way, the Club came back with a number of trophies. Yes, we as a group represent car clubs with pride. My Grandson told his Dad, “There aren’t too many Nanas’ that belong to car clubs, right Dad?” Come join us on our next cruise to Laughlin scheduled for March 19 through the st 21 . There will even be a car show and contest. It is amazing when you see all the cars on exhibit. Best of all, you don’t have to own a PT to cruise with us. By Gloria Aguirre
