This module is to:
1. employ appropriate strategic thinking skills to propose solutions for familiar and unfamiliar design problems;
2. implement applied research method for problem analysis and idea development on some unfamiliar problems in largely
familiar contexts;
3. execute a range of creative activities in a specific context including self evaluation; and
4. employ more persuasive communication techniques in visual images application, verbal and written skills in project
presentations.

To comprehend strategic thinking tools and to generate a broad range of criteria and ideas to facilitate the best outcome to
answer the specific needs or problems.
The Post 90s generation is good at expressing themselves and is more enthusiastic about sharing their personal lives by uploading

Brief
The Post 90s- Communication
With an extensive used of computing devises and Internet coverage in our time, our society has evolved into a new form
of communication. Online communication has become a significant communication tool in our daily life; especially
between the Post 90s. Facebook, Whatsapp, Line and Skype etc., they provide an instant and convenient ways to
communicate with friends and relatives. Through these media a phenomenon takes shape that changes many peoples
behavior including the way to express themselves and creating their own identities, it also bypassed the traditional kind of
face-to-face contact and communication, which also sprung off a new types of languages/slangs and visuals among
users.
Emoticons and Emoji are the major visual characters that become the legacy and are significantly important and
prominent nowadays. They are referring to the small digital images or icons used to express an idea or emotion in
electronic communication.
How do you see this new era of online communication are causing impacts or influencing among the
Post 90s?
Do you see that as a threat of deterioration of face-to-face communication skills?
Are they overly depending on those tools?
Do you see any new possibilities or opportunities comprising?
How do you interpret or relate this situation to yourself?
The following are the suggestions of the design areas for the different streams. Students are free to propose

By engaging in this theme, students are required to execute in depth research and illustrate their ability to
generate a strategy in achieving the Final Design Proposal of the Post 90s Communication
Students are required to

Come up with a Design Statement & User Profile
2.
Conduct an research to investigate the subject
3.
Analyse, define & re-define the findings
4.
Generate a broad range of possibilities on criteria and ideas with respect to strategic plan
5.
Reflection report on how the strategic plan answer to the Project
6.
Present the process and final outcome in the most effective and representative format, which should be record in
the power point.

Take pictures (5) [No Google photos] and discover the uniqueness of the Post 90s in their
way of working/entertaining/building their image/communicating/using their space. All photos need to be
characterized or identified with descriptive wordings.
