Dear Family of Churches, The inclement weather has altered a lot of our schedules this winter. But, spring is on it’s way! And with it will come a swirl of new activities. I’m praying along with you that God will bless in a special way this spring and summer. I look forward to the revivals, outdoor events, mission trips, Vacation Bible Schools, youth conferences and many other special events. By the time you read this note the “Buckets of Hope” will be on their way to Haiti, and it appears BEBA will have a wonderful response. Also, please remember Charlie Jones, our Disaster Relief Team Leader, who will be in Haiti through at least March 15th. As I write more than 100 people have made the commitment to learn more about their church responsibility by attending our Associational Workshop. We really appreciate Bro. Lancaster and all the good folks at Rockwood First for allowing us to use their wonderful facilities. I know it’s going to be helpful for all. Many of you are already praying for our Youth Evangelism Conference in Pigeon Forge on March 19-20. Keep it up! Reservations are still coming in. Pray for safety, revival, renewal, and the salvation of many souls and that God would receive glory. Bro. Randy David, president of the Tennessee Baptist Convention will be at out next minister’s conference on April 14th (notice date change) at 10:30 a.m. at Trenton Street Baptist Church. Bro. Randy is attempting to visit every association during this church year and we welcome him to Big Emory. Be sure to read the Mexico note and begin praying for our trip. I was asked recently what my Christianity looked like. Did it look like a recliner or a cross? I had trouble answering! God bless you each one. Thank you for your faithful prayers and support. Bro. Mason

2010 Tennessee Baptist Easter Cross Witness
Larry Gilmore, TBC Director of Evangelism, has presented a very powerful idea that will allow our churches to accent their witness in their communities from Palm Sunday to Easter and on into 2010. The idea is to place a silent witness which is a white cross (22 1/2 inches tall and 17 1/2 inches wide) in the yards of our members on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010. The community will begin to wonder what a plain white cross is doing in so many people’s yards. But on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2010, they will find out when each member turns the cross around so people can read “He Is Risen!” Big Emory is cooperating in this effort and a cross has been ordered for each church. If your church would like to participate please e-mail Patbeba@comcast.net, contact Bro. Mike Winters at 865.382.1054 or call the BEBA office at 865.882.6446 to get more information and to make arrangements to pick up your cross. Instructions for observing this event, as well as how to order more crosses are included with your cross.

The date has been confirmed and plans are being made for our Mexico mission trip on June 25 – July 2, 2010. We are praying for volunteers for construction, evangelism and Vacation Bible School. We pray that among those volunteers would be a nurse, a beautician and a face painter. Free hair cuts, health checks and face painting would be a great help in reaching out to the people. Some have already expressed an interest in this trip. Please make all of the above a matter of prayer. You may contact the BEBA office or Charlie Jones. Also, keep Mike Helton and Vision Ministries in your prayers. Big Emory Baptist Association has voted to purchase a building site for a new church near Monclova at the cost of $5,000. Some of our work on our trip will be in this area. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Christ in the Passover” Trenton Street Baptist Church Good Friday, April 2, 2010, 7 p.m.
All are invited as Jews for Jesus presents this presentation. A table with items traditionally used at the Passover meal will be set up with details given of their spiritual significance. Jews for Jesus will also explain the connection between the events of the first Passover in Egypt and the redemption that Jesus accomplished, as well as the deep bond between the ancient Passover feast and the Christian communion celebration today. For more information, call the church at 865.882.9232. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Riggs Chapel Baptist Church needs a wheel chair. If you have one to donate or sell, please contact Fox & Mary Crabtree. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As many of our churches begin their spring revivals remember that we now have an outdoor, changeable letter sign. It has flashing lights and is mounted on a trailer at the BEBA office ready to go. Also, for your summer outdoor events, there is a new portable sound system. Call or stop by the BEBA office to reserve. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
