As Lord Mayor, I am delighted to invite you to this year’s Cork St. Patrick’s Festival. Over three days, the city will feature a riot of colour, music and activity with free family friendly street entertainment and a market celebrating the best of local artesian production in the heart of the City. This year’s parade is anticipated to be bigger than ever with the theme Ships to Shore celebrating Cork’s rich maritime culture in style. So for citizens and visitors alike, I know there will be something in this extensive programme to suit all tastes. This festival is proudly presented by Cork City Council and I would like to thank our generous sponsors, Cork Airport and Barry’s Tea as well as our media sponsors RED FM and the Evening Echo. Join us for three days of festival madness as the street bursts into life with Free family-fun entertainment including music, circus walkabouts and children’s workshops in the City Centre. there is something for the young and young-at-heart too. take a trip down Grand Parade and sample some tasty titbits from the Barry’s tea market as you kick-back to enjoy the music including everything from trad, Jive, Soul or Bluegrass. Watch the comedy antics of circus workabouts or get making in a children’s workshop. Come on and join in the Fun in this Year’s BIGGer than eVer Festival.

With chicken mounted comedy fun, come join Clucking Fantastic: the Policemen as Chickens bring chaos and calamity to the most organised of crowds and Clucking Fantastic: the Cowboys, the Wild West on chickens.

VAlDMAN FoUR 12.30-1.30pm
Jazz maestro Yossi Valdman leads his foursome in some nice smooth and mellow jazz sounds.

woRkSHoPS 1.00-3.00pm & 3.30 – 5.30 pm
all the way from France join Chapeau magique, Paul henri Jeannel, professor and magician, with his spectacular folding paper workshops that generate hundreds of large scale paper hats.

THe ReD HeRRiNgS 2.00-3.30pm
a wryly humorous, upbeat, insightful and melodic melting pot of popular 20th century american blues music.

Celebrating Cork’s rich maritime culture, this year’s theme is Ships to Shore. Come join us with festival favorites Spraoi, Cork Circus and Dowtcha Puppets as well as community and voluntary groups from around the city and county as the city centre is turned into a river of boats, sails and anything that floats with the biggest parade in southern Ireland.

Sample the best of Cork’s fine food tradition at the Barry’s tea market which will feature the finest local artesian food and crafts producers over three days of the festival.

Furious, funky, up-tempo carnival style drumming from this six piece outfit.

Ireland’s premier jump jive swing band.
