POWERBASE V8
Essentially this power supply is the
same as the Powerbase 32 but it has a
higher power rotary transformer and a
high specification toroid transformer
replaces the original chassis
transformer. The unit supplies 0-20V
smoothed DC and 0-16V AC at 8 amps.
The output is continuously variable
and protected by a panel mounted
thermal cut out. An output limiter is
fitted and this allows the user to
preset the maximum voltage available.

This is an updated
version of the Irwin
Powerbase 32.

IRWIN POWER SUPPLIES REPAIR KIT

After about 25 years the blue
cases become brittle and are
prone to cracking. The innards are
pretty bomb proof and all that is
needed to bring the units back
into usable service is a case. We
are offering a repair kit comprising
a brand new case, a "mushroom"
for the rear to act as a cable tidy, a
cable clamp, an alternative cable
gland (much easier) and full
instructions. As some people have
had difficulty removing the cable
clamp, we also sell the special tool

IRWIN RIPPLE TANK

The Irwin Ripple Tank comes with everything that you need to display wave propagation, standing
waves, reflection refraction and diffraction. The ripple tank comes complete with a controller that
allows the light source to be synchronised, or not, with the beater bars so that a waveform may be

VAN DE GRAAFF GENERATOR

A superb Van de Graaff generator that produces a fat spark even in damp conditions. The unit has
two modes of operation:

The unit may be hand cranked to show that the electrostatic discharge has nothing to do with
mains electricity.

Change the belt over and the unit is then powered by a powerful motor whose speed may be
adjusted to suit conditions
The Van de Graaff uses a silicon belt rather than the traditional rubber one. This gives the belt an
