FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The A Capella Sensation,
Voca People,
Return to Houston for One Night Only!
Presented by Society for the Performing Arts
HOUSTON (9/14/2015) – The a cappella and beat box octet known as Voca People
returns to Houston Friday, Oct. 16, at 7:30 p.m., in the Wortham Center’s Cullen Theater,
presented by Society for the Performing Arts.
What began as a YouTube sensation has quickly grown into a worldwide phenomenon,
filled with performances and a fan base around the world. The Voca People are friendly
aliens from the planet Voca, somewhere behind the sun, where all communication is
made by music and vocal expressions. Follow their journey back to planet Earth while
experiencing an original musical adventure unlike anything you have ever seen before.
Full of energy and bursting with comedy and fun, Voca People features more than 80 a
cappella and beat box versions of all-time favorite hits including music by Madonna,
Michael Jackson and even Mozart! No instruments, no sound effects—just eight
incredible talents breathing life into the greatest music on earth.
Israeli-born Creator, Writer and Director Lior Kalfo began working on the zany idea of
Voca People four years before its first rehearsal. Known in Israel for his award-winning
comedy series “The Comedy Store,” Lior envisioned something completely different for
this production, mixing classic songs in a capella style with performers dressed in all
white. Shai Fishman, the show’s composer, arranger and music director—also from Israel
—quickly joined Lior in his efforts to bring Voca People into a reality. Fishman, famous
for composing and producing original scores for all films at NASA and the Houston
Museum of Natural Science, became half of the amazing duo needed for Voca People to
thrive.
Houston audiences won’t want to miss out on this special one night engagement, focused
on the Voca’s famous motto, “life is music and music is life.” Join the millions in
witnessing this unique, inter-galactic phenomenon, filled with comedy, audience
participation, music of all times and an overall evening of total excitement.
Tickets for Voca People range from $28-$68 and can be purchased online at
