Casa San Pablo Clay Storytellers

Casa San Pablo Clay Storytellers are created by clay artisan An Mercado Alcantara who is
a writer, potter, and innkeeper. Inspired by the characters and scenes from her hometown, she
creates these clay figures to capture the nuances of our Filipino heritage and culture so that even
in her naive way she is able to rekindle an appreciation for our Filipino way of life. She has trained
young promising artists from San Pablo, Laguna, to do the hand-pinching and hand-painting of the
pieces. What they earn goes toward their education.
