4TH PRECINCT HIGHLIGHTS----WEEK 633-March 9—March 15, 2010

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. ASSAULTS: ASSLT2 w/Dangerous Weapon; THREAT; WEAPON 47XX Bryant Ave N Thursday 3/11/10 1629 hrs 10-067006 AP1 BM, 33 yrs, & PG1/BF, 37 yrs, are legally married, but separated. They arrived at the above location together by car, so that PG1 could visit her kids, V1/BF, 18, & V2/BM, 16 yrs. V1 & V2 argued with AP1 about taking their mother’s furniture. AP1 pulled out a silver automatic gun & pointed it at V1, who backed away & called police. V2 witnessed this, & chased the vehicle as AP1 drove off. When V2 located the vehicle, AP1 pointed the gun at V2’s head. When AP1 realized squads were pursuing him, he fled on foot, tossing the gun in a snow bank. AP1 was arrested & K-9 located the gun. Victims were not injured. ASSLT2 w/Dangerous Weapon 36XX Oliver Ave N Saturday 3/13/10 1414 hrs 10-068935 V1/BF, 32 yrs, called police after a known BM, 26 yrs, 5’9-6’, light build, light complexion, w/long braided hair, kicked at her front door, demanding some vehicle rims he wanted & thought she had. V1 believed she saw a small black handgun in S1’s hand. S1 was GOA & police were unable to locate him. No injuries. ASSLT2 w/Dangerous Weapon; ASLT5 44th Ave N & Lyndale Ave N Sunday 3/14/10 0425 hrs 10-069671 Officers were flagged down by V2/BF, 30 yrs, who relayed that she & V1/BF, 23 yrs, were assaulted & kicked out of a car. V1 & V2 were leaving a friend’s house when a pit bull chased them onto a parked car. S1/BM, 20-50 yrs, 6’2”, heavy set, & S2/BM, 40-50 yrs, 5’6”, light build, w/goatee, wearing blue jeans & white t-shirt, pulled up in an older white, 4 door car. Suspects picked up the victims, but wouldn’t drive them back to their hotel. S1 stopped the vehicle, pulled V1 out of the car & began beating her. V1 was struck an unknown number of times in the face & torso, causing a cut above her eye. S1 also shoved V1 to the ground, kicked her in the torso, & pulled out a wooden stick/club, striking V1 in the back several times. V2 was punched once in her right ear by S1, causing it to ring. Suspects were GOA. The officers transported the victims to the hospital. ASSLT2 w/Dangerous Weapon 52XX Fremont Ave N Monday 3/15/10 2030 hrs 10-071199 V1/WF, 15 yrs, was on the corner & observed S1/Hispanic M & S2/BM, both 16-19 yrs, fire several shots in her direction. Victim fled to avoid being shot. S1, the Hispanic male, was wearing all red with a tattoo on the left side of his neck. Unknown type of handgun. Officers canvassed the area, but no casings were recovered. No injuries.

ROBBERIES: ROBPAG Broadway Ave W & Penn Ave N Wednesday 3/10/10 1700 hrs. 10-066085 V1/BM, 60 yrs, knows S1/BM, 58 yrs, & the 2 had been drinking. When V1 went to the bus stop & took out money for the fare, S1 began yelling at V1, demanding his money. S1 struck V1 in the head with a walking cane several times, causing an injury to V1’s head. S1 took $120 from V1’s hand & fled on a bus. V1 was taken to the hospital by ambulance.

ROBPER 2XX Cedar Lake Rd Wednesday 3/10/10 2217 hrs 10-066339 V1/BM, 49 yrs, left the above address & was wrestled to the ground by 3 unknown suspects who took his money & cell phone. All 3 suspects were described as BM’s, 15-17 yrs, 5’, medium build, wearing a black jacket & blue jeans. Loss included a Mobile cell phone & $275 in cash. No weapon implied or seen. No known injuries. ROBPAG (Attempt) Irving Ave N & 18th Ave N Friday 3/12/10 0200 hrs 10-067504 V1/BM, 43 yrs, knows S1/BF, 23 yrs, 5’9, heavy build, dark complexion, as he has been seeing her on & off for 7 months. S1 phoned V1 & requested that he pick her up at her address. S1, unknown S2/BM, 40-45 yrs, 5’10-5’11, short afro, & unknown S3/BF23-45 yrs, 5’2-5’8, heavy build, medium complexion, approached V1’s car from behind & got in, with S2 sitting directly behind V1. V1 drove the parties to Cub Foods, then back to S1’s address, where she told V1 to turn around & S2 held a black-handled kitchen knife w/a 5-6 inch blade to V1’s right cheek. S2 instructed S1 to go through V1’s pockets, but S2 became impatient & all 3 suspects fled on foot. V1 was not injured and did not suffer a loss. ROBPER 32XX Fremont Ave N Friday 3/12/10 0315 hrs 10-067548 V1/Hispanic Male, 39 yrs, flagged down a squad & informed officers he had been beaten & robbed. V1’s face was covered in blood, his pants were ripped, & his wallet, containing $80 & personal papers, was taken. V1 stated he had driven himself & several friends to a party, but decided he didn’t want to go. An argument ensued & 2 parties beat V1 about the head with their fists, & took the loss. AP1BM, 27 & AP2 BM, 29, are casually known to V1 & fled the scene on foot. Officers apprehended AP1 & AP2 & conducted a show-up, where V1 positively ID’d them. AP’s were booked in HCJ. V1 was transported to the hospital. No weapon used. ROBPER 8th Ave N & Penn Ave N Friday 3/12/10 1950 hrs 10-068197 V1 was at the bus stop at this location & was approached by unknown S1/BM, age unknown, 5’9, medium build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt & black pants, who produced a black revolver & demanded money. V1 pulled out his wallet, containing $50 cash, & misc. cards & papers. V1’s cell phone fell out of his pocket & S1 took all the items & fled on foot. V1 did not have any injuries and refused medical attention. V1walked to the 4th Pct to make this report. ROBPAG 30XX Russell Ave N Saturday 3/13/10 1830 hrs 10-069112 Officers responded to this location & met V1/WM, 18 yrs, who stated he was robbed at gunpoint by S1/BM, 18-22 yrs, 5’11, light build, wearing dark jeans & a black jacket w/ Mountain Dew on back & unknown S2/BM, 18-22 yrs, 5’5-5’8, medium build, light complexion, wearing light colored blue jeans & a white hoodie. Suspects confronted V1 in the alley & S1 produced a black colored revolver, while S2 went through V1’s pockets. V1 gave suspects the money from his wallet & suspects fled. V1 was not injured. ROBBIZ (Blue & White Cab) 16th Ave N & Girard Ave N Sunday 3/14/10 1225 hrs 10-069836 RP1/BM 51 yrs, taxi driver for Blue & White cab, picked up S1/BM, 20-25 yrs, 5’9, stocky build, dark complexion, short black hair, wearing black jeans & an Orlando Magic jersey, & S2/BM, 20-25 yrs, 5’8, light build, short black hair, wearing all black clothing & drove them to their requested destination (above). S2 stated he would go in his house & get the fare, at which time S1, sitting in the back seat, pointed a black handgun at RP’s head and demanded money or he’d “shoot his head off.” S2 was now standing next to the driver’s door. S1 reached into RP’s shirt pocked & removed $45 in cash & RP’s personal keys. S1 also took the cab keys from the ignition. Suspects fled on foot. RP1 was not injured. ROBPER 5XX Irving Ave N Monday 3/15/10 1830 hrs 10-071064 V1/WF, 23 yrs, was seated on a bench in Harrison Park when unknown S1/BM, 17-18 yrs, 5’10, light build, wearing a black do-rag, grey sweatshirt & blue jeans, & S2/BM, 17-18 yrs, 5’10, light build, wearing a black, grey, & red checked sweatshirt or coat & blue jeans, ran up to her & both forcibly grabbed V1’s purse from her shoulder & ran. Loss is a purse, wallet, $50 cash, debit card, & keys. No known injuries.

ROBPAG 52XX Camden Ave N Monday 3/15/10 1930 hrs 10-071140 V1/WM, 24, & V2/WM, 25, stated 2 BM suspects, 22—23, pulled a gun on them & demanded their money. Both victims fled, leaving their vehicle behind. No known injuries.

WEAPONS: WEAP/Carry a Weapon w/out a Permit Girard Ave N & Plymouth Ave N Wednesday 3/10/10 1530 hrs 10-066042 S1/BM, 17 yrs, 5’10, heavy build, stated a friend, BM, w/grey hair, 30’s (no further info), handed him a gun & when he took possession of it & put it in his waistband, he accidentally pulled the trigger & shot himself. S1 suffered a wound in his upper right thigh that exited by his knee. S1 hospitalized. Gun was a revolver & was not recovered.
