Chapter 1
Earth
The earth – destroyed by humans. Rebuild by nature.

Chapter 2
Dessert
A little tiny sand corn and yet so powerful forming an endless ocean of thousand, millions
and trillions of sand corns, as far as the eye can reach it – the dessert.

Zsssss……FIRE…..Zsssss…….SMOKE……Bong……SILENCE!

The old and new. The history and future. The end and the beginning. The area of the
timeless – just begun.

Chapter 3
Pentagon
The pentagon. Pentagon’s Homeland Defence Office. 5 persons: the president, the vice
president, Secretary of Defence Mr. Artie, Dr. Bartek – top scientist in nanotechnology, Dr.
Briana – IBM researchers and specialist in human body health and Dr. Nuadha– specialist
in computer technology.

Mr. Artie: “Mr. President we need to start project ENID ( welsh: soul or life ). The humanity
is destroying itself – now more then ever. Look around you…illness, wars, destruction and
now we are about to enter the experience of a huge meteor crisis..”

“Well then I want all of you starting the project ENID right now. Mr. Artie fills in Dr.
Bartek, Dr. Briana and Dr. Nuadha, immediately .Top Secret level. Nothing goes out..”
The stunning and questioning looks on the scientists face doesn’t border anyone of those
3 men. What is this project? Why are we here?
Questions over questions and only one answer, straight out of Mr. Artis’s mouth: “Project
ENID is the future – our future – our survival”.

Chapter 4
Dessert 2
“Project ENID started: Air level check: 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other gases:
breathable. Initiation of Temperature Regulation: check. Body scan: check. Nano robots:
check. Scanning area: check. Uploading file: ŠIWA .”

“Good morning Siwa. Wake up Siwa…. Body temperature: normal. Brain function:
initiating….and normal.”
“Mmmmmm…yawning….mmmmm….”

‘Hi Siwa – wake up. My name is Gaia. Welcome to your future, to our future.”

Siwa wakes up – no idée what’s going on, what’s happened or where she is: “Where am I?
Auuu, my whole body is hurting and what the hell is going on????”

“Siwa – please calm and I explain everything. You want to go out for a walk? It’s been a
while.”

A week and disillusioned ‘yes’ appears from Siwa’s lips and she went outside – outside to
a new world, a new life and a new future.

Chapter 5
Home
“Hey honey shall we go to that exhibition about that future stuff? I don’t want to hang out
the whole weekend in the house. ”
“Oh yeah, why not – sounds interesting and nice. And afterwards we will have a nice
dinner – your treat, ok?” Patrick says.
“Deal” was the answer with a sneaky smile followed by a kiss.

They were still going strong in their relationship even after 2,5 years, little problems and
against all the prediction of others.
Nobody expected that this holiday fling would turn out this way – not even her. And yet
besides few issues there they were – handling the daily routine.
“Ready? Let’s go, sexy.” she said.

Chapter 6
Pentagon 2

The pentagon. Pentagon’s Homeland Defence Office. 5 persons: the president, the vice
president, Secretary of Defence Mr. Artie, Dr. Bartek – top scientist in nanotechnology, Dr.
Briana – IBM researchers and specialist in human body health and Dr. Nuadha– specialist
in computer technology.

5 years and billions of dollars later:

“Mr. President, our scientists finished their excellent work and project ENID is ready to
go. The computer has selected 100 Americans and we just need your O.K. on it.” the
voice of Secretary of Defence Mr. Artie halls through the office.

Mumbling between the vice president and the president caught s everyone’s attention:
“…..how can we……is this right…….responsibility……no tests…”

“Mr. Artie how can we be sure about this? Not one test showed satisfying results.” The
formal and yet strong nearly majestic voice of the president crosses the room to catch
the ears of all other listeners.

“It is our duty. Even one single chance is better then nothing. The latest news, I briefed
you this morning are definitive that we will get hit. Now or never, Mr. President – at all
costs.”

Silence all over – not one single noise dare to appear in this moment. Everyone’s thought
chasing around till a squeezed low ‘O.K.’ appeared from the president’s mouth.

Chapter 7
Dessert 3

“God I feel like a tank rolled over me, and this suit on my body. Gaia would you please tell
me what’s going on for Christ sake!” “What do you remember ,Siwa?” Gaia’s answer
came back to her.

“I went to this exhibition about future technology and found this 2 VIP
passes….mmmhhhh….I took them for us and we went into this special room….and
then…mmhhh….nothing…I don’t know ….oh my god …yeah …...there was this thing
and….” Siwa tries to remember, to push away this black hole in her head.
“And…?” was the waiting answer of Gaia.
Siwa’s mind was running to lighten this black hole …and ….me and Patrick we went
further to have a closer look…..and…
Siwa’s mouth was very dry and suddenly it shot through her head: “that thing was you –
Gaia!!!!”

Siwa’s big eyes fixed on Gaia, speechless and questioning.

“Yes it was me.” Gaia’s hollow voice shallow in the wind and carried away.
“So that’s it?? That’s your answer? That’s your explanation, Gaia??? Where is Pat? Where
are we? What’s going on??Speak!!!” The speechlessness been erased by Siwa’s anger
and fear.
“Please, sit down and listening: You are part of the project ENID to safe the human kind.
100 person were selected by the computer because of there specialties and knowledge.
Unfortually those two VIP tickets weren’t meant to be for you and your partner. 11,2
years after your “abduction” the world as we know crashed down –the 3rd world war
started and destroyed everything.. The whole economy, the whole way of life you know
has been destroyed. 49,7% of the world population died directly after impact of the first
atomic rockets and the rest, as far as we know, died afterwards on epidemic diseases and
during the nuclear winter. You and 98 other person been frozen in a new experimental
way and shot in the space to guarantee the survival of human kind and to rebuild the
world.”

Siwa’s eyes widening with every word in Unbelief. That has to be a joke and the camera
team just will jump out. That can’t be true. That would mean everyone she loved is dead.
Everything she knew doesn’t exist anymore.

Her mouth opened to leave out thousands of questions and only a whispering stuttering
“No” came over her lips.

She sat down on the few rocks next to her, cover from the sun by the little vegetation
around her. No further words came out of her – just staring at Gaia, trying to realise, to
understand and somehow to escape those words she just heard.

“I am Gaia – genetic artificial intelligence – serial A. Designed to serve you, provide you
with all informations and needs to keep you alive and to help you to rebuild our
civilisation. Project ENID started 2010 and it’s designed for eternity. All test person been
injected with the newest nano technology to survive any threats or illness. While your
sleeping period your brain been constantly trained and stimulated by downloading the
best fighting-, tactics, weapons,-survival,- medical and science programmes of the world.
Your job is to safe human kind.”

As Gaia finished her cold presentation of facts, Siwa’s mind was spinning around trying to
get hold of everything to realise it and still deep down praying this might be a joke. She
blacked out.

Chapter 8
Home 2
“Oh men, I need a wee. So lets find a toilet through all those people and then I want to
see that new LSD - TV.” Siwa said.
Washing her hands, in the corner of her eyes she saw something shinning on the floor – 2
plastic passes with VIP on it and no one around. They must have fallen out or something.
So she took it maybe they going to see something interesting, who knows.
Hey sexy, look what I found.” showing the VIP cards to Pat. “Let us have a look. Come
on.” And Siwa took Pats hand leading to the VIP section.
“So that’s it?! Two boring silver egg shaped shuttles.” Patrick said with a bored under
tune and giving Siwa his most bored look.
“Please, you can sit inside.” One of the present securities said.
“O.k.” came the reply from both and each one sat in. “Project ENID initiated”
That was the last thing Siwa and Patrick heard – the last thing of a world they never aw
back.

Chapter 9
Dessert 4
BONG BONG BONG – “You stupid shit of metal. You call yourself A.I. and didn’t even
realize that we were the wrong persons? To save a world what is not worth it?” BONG
BONG . Siwa kept hitting Gaia to release her pain till she just sat on her knees and cried
her pain out loud.
The soft voice of Gaia came through: “I am very sorry that this all happened but I am
certain after all you are the right person, Siwa. And as I see it, you have 2 choices: stay
here till you die or get up and try to make the world a better place. It’s your decision . “
The crying stopped by silence. Siwa was always a fighter and survivor and now it was the
time to account on this. Maybe she could make a difference or at least trying and
learning. Maybe humanity would learn of their mistakes. And after all she wasn’t
completely alone - she had Gaia and Pat was still outside there – somewhere. Wasn’t that
worth fighting?!

Siwa raised up, saying with a strong voice: “Ok then. I want to know everything, specially
those weekly programmes you loaded up in my head and about those nanos. LET’S
fight!!!

1 month later:
“Your training is complete, Siwa. It is time to start the mission.” Gaia’s soft yet confirmed
voice rang in Siwa’s ear. I give a shit about the mission! I want to know where the others
are. I want to know about this world first before I let humanity take over again. I am not a
stupid birth maschine.Yes, I am ready. So let’s find the first human and see what we can
find out.” Siwa said in a quiet angry tone.

“Scanner on full range and ready to go. Tarn mechanisms on.” Gaia said and even Siwa
knew that Gaia is actually a machine, she couldn’t help to hear a very human tune in this
voice, and a little unnoticed smile slipped her mouth – yes she thought of a friend in Gaia.
And they hidden of in the never-ending sand corn speeded ahead of them.

Chapter 10
Earth 2
The earth – miracle in its form, shapes and on it’s on – likely as humanity, which doesn’t
deserve it.

Chapter 11
Jungle
Piep – Piep – “Siwa wake up!”…Piep- Piep- “Siwaaaaaaaaaa!!!” Gaia screamed, that was
at least how I sounded in her sleepy ears.

“Mhhhh…what is it?” Siwa’s sleepiness answered. My sensors detected huge

Accumulation of Vegetarian life forms including unidentified constructions.” A very
Incredulously and moody face appeared in front of Gaia’s screen: “Now in a language I
understand, please.”
An easy ad quiet bored answer came back: “Jungle and old buildings with people.”
“Na, that wasn’t so difficult, was it?” Siwas just ignored her ‘moaning.” So let us land and
see what we have there. Ok, dude?!”
“Dude???” came back and Siwa couldn’t help but smile “You find out as you are so much
cleverer then I.” she said and swung her legs out of the cockpit, already on her way to
witness what she thought is a miracle.

Siwa couldn’t believe her big greenish eyes: huge forest sprinkling in all the colours she
could imagine: yellow, pink, purple, red, blue..And finally a bit of the known green she
knew from her time. The tress, bushes and leafs were several shapes as oval, triangle,
zick-zack , huge and very small with few rocks between and something what she would
call a palm tree……
“Bloody hell!” was the only thing she could imagine. “When the plants are like this,
wonder how the “humans and animals” are?!” she looked asking to Gaia, which instantly
replied: “Take your watch and I will be and help you the whole way trough.”
A simple black plastic watch came out of Gaia’s little secret boxes she had all over and
Siwa put it on.
Just this simple watch wasn’t that simple: Siwa was in constant contact with Gaia and
could use all facilities of the space shuttle.

Siwa stood in front of this amazing jungle , her black curly hair moving in the light
summer breeze. And with her short brown, leather top and skirt, she made out from the
interior of Gaia, she looked like a warrior – ready to go. Even Gaia felt something like
proud.

“Ok, Gaia, Tarn modus on, scanner on full range and here we go.” Siwa said in a shiver
voice, thinking what she has to expect and only the thought on Pat up there in space kept
her calm.

After an hour wandering around, exploring new creatures, and plants she heard voices –
familiar and yet so strange. She moved forwards till the trees were lightening and stood
in front of a village – with people.
