Executive Summary
An internship program is very important & essential for acquiring experience through
learning and spreading the scope of Knowledge. I have done my internship program in
Standard Bank Limited, Principle Branch, Dhaka.
This internship Report is aimed at providing a comprehensive picture to the areas of
Foreign Exchange of Standard Bank Limited. The information of this report is
disseminated on the basis of foreign remittance procedure, foreign remittance condition,
and exchange houses of Standard Bank Limited etc.
Standard Bank Limited, maintaining the pace with the competitive commercial banking
operations in Bangladesh provides all of banking services at the doorsteps of the people.
The Bank also participates in various social and development programs and takes part in
implementation of various policies and promises made by the Government.
Standard Bank Limited plays a pioneer role in handling foreign trade and foreign exchange
transactions. With wide network of branches and exchange houses it is singularly handling
the largest volume of export-import business including homebound remittances. For this
reason Foreign Exchange of the Bank is very much essential. But now a days banking
sector of Bangladesh is suffering the disease of default culture which is the consequence or
result of bad performance of most banks.
Standard Bank Limited is operating its foreign remittance operations through own and other
exchange houses which are comparatively accomplishing their target through capturing the
market of U.S.A, U.K, U.A.E and almost all of the countries of the world.
In this report I mentioned the overall performances of Standard Bank Limited for the
economic development of Bangladesh.
I also mentioned the findings of my report and described the recommendations to
overcome the limitations.

I have taken all the reasonable care to ensure the accuracy and quality to make the report
standard. And I believe that it has been included all the necessary information to be
relevant, reliable and useful.
