Brief report on structural framing system of hotel tower.

Hotel

framing

and

vertical

structural

components

position

are

governed by typical guest floor planning. The important requirements for

guest floor planning is to accommodate framing in such a way so that it does
not effect the guest rooms layout and services can also run through and fro
easily and efficiently without any hindrance in the overall look of the floor. To
cater this criteria the corridor has been designed as a flat slab of 175 mm
thick without any beams running in between so that smooth passage of a.c ,
electrical and other pipes can happen. Most of the horizontal beams that
have been provided in the guest floor are shallow of not more than 350 mm
depth which has in turn resulted in greater flexibility . For interior walls
except in toilet wall ,gypsum walling have been suggested. These types of
walling due to light weight has resulted in reduction of load on foundation
and also help to provide shallow depth beam .It will also lead to reduction of
time. The slab thickness has been optimally provided along with the drop in
toilets so that easier passage of sanitary lines and proper fixture of fittings
can take place. The shear walls have been so placed in the guest floors so
that no transfer of columns is required from the basement floors and there is
no hindrance in planning of typical guest floors. The building has been
effectively made stronger at the ends to resist the lateral forces . The
building framing has been designed as a special moment resisting frame
and in accordance of the relevant INDIAN STANDARDS

Brief report on structural framing system of service tower.

The main criteria for hotel service apartments design was to keep the
structure as far as possible in line with architecture and interior layout and to
provide as much as possible free movement for services. To achieve this
challenge shear walls has been provided in such a way that

they dont

create obstructions in the planning and are in line with the brick work
positions .The framing has been done in concept of flat beam and slab . It
was also taken care that in this process rigidity of the building does not get
effect and it is efficiently stronger to resist all the lateral and vertical forces.
The beam depth provided is of shallow depth of 350 at most places for easier
efficient movement of services and greater achievement of ceiling heights .
Here also drops as and when required for toilets has been provided . Care
has been taken to accommodate the planter features in the apartment
efficiently without any obstruction.
One of the main advantage of shear wall positioning in service
apartments is the diagonally symmetry between the structure which leads to
proper distribution of forces all along . Here also drops as and when required
for toilets has been provided . Care has been taken to accommodate the
planter features in the apartment efficiently without any obstruction.

The

shear walls apartments lower basement lower has been such placed so that
they are in accordance with the driveways and in typical floors as mentioned
earlier they are in accordance of the architecture layout . To achive this dual
system help of service floor has been taken . The columns in the lower
basement floors are thicker and shorter and in the in typical floors are longer
and thinner . Overall the structure has been optimally designed so that it is
cost effective as well rigidly strengthen in all respects. The building framing
has been designed as a special moment resisting frame and in accordance
of the relevant INDIAN STANDARDS
