1. INTRODUCTION
Screen CLS2100, Maintenance & Repair, allows the user to maintain records of:
Survey details - reference number, date/time, etc.
Repair details - type and position of damage; repair type; start/completion date/time, etc.
Charges incurred for repairs - parts, labour, etc.
CIRI reference and Cedex code
Sub-statuses can also be recorded while the container progresses through the repair cycle

CLS2101, Repair History, allows the user to:


Inspect the above details for any repair carried out during the container's history

This guide is in two parts:


Part 1 covers standing data set-up, i.e., the tables of items such as types of damage
Part 2 covers using the screens

2.1 Putting the new screens in the menu

In data entry mode, set up screens CLS2100 and CLS2101

Go to Menu Maintenance \ Management \ Menu Options

Retrieve the Equipment menu (its code can be found by highlighting the Equipment folder
in the main menu, right-clicking, and selecting Properties from the pop-up menu)

Insert a new sub-folder by pressing the


name and description of your choice

Save the record, then re-query on SHP_EQ_MR and add the two new screens to the new
sub-folder:

2.2 System Registry

Go to System Administration \ Management \ System Registry:

Open the screen and expand Global, then PROGRAMS (click on the + to the left in each
case)

Scroll down to the line CLS2100, under PROGRAMS

If this is not present, scroll back up to PROGRAMS, highlight it, then right-click, select 'Add
Data Node' from the pop-up menu, key 'CLS2100', and finally click on [Add Node]

Once the line CLS2100 is in place, scroll down to it (if just added, it will be at the bottom of
the list), highlight it, then click on + on the button bar at the top of the screen

In the pop-up, key 'EnableStatusCreation' (without the quotation marks; no spaces between
words, and capital letters as shown) in the Description field, and '1' in the Data field:

Click on [OK], then exit the screen

If set to 1 (On), the List of Values (LoV) for the Repair screen's Container Number field will
list all containers
If set to 0 (Off), the LoV for the Container Number field will only list containers that are
currently out for repair (i.e., at MRP status). These containers will have reached MRP
status via the Container Move screens, PFS0067

2.3 General Codes


2.3.1 CNDT, Condition Types

Double-click on the Master Data folder (there is no need to open this folder with the +
button to its left). General Codes will be highlighted in the right-hand panel:

Double-click on General Codes. This will open screen PFS2060

Key 'CNDT' in the Type field, '2' in Length, and 'Condition Types' in Description

Press [Details]. This will open screen PFS2061

To insert a new record, press the + button on the button bar at the top of the screen

Key a new value (maximum two characters) in Code Value (suggestion: start with '1')

Key the appropriate value in the Description field - in the example below, 'Scratched'

Save the record by clicking on the [Diskette] button at the left-hand end of the button bar

Insert additional new records as described above, e.g. 2 Major chip, 3 Small dent, etc.

Click on [Close]. The user will be returned to PFS2060

In PFS2060, General Codes, set up code CDEX as follows:

2.4 Resource Statuses Maintenance


Once the new statuses have been keyed in General Code CNST, they can be added in
Equipment \ Maintenance \ PFS0115, Resource Statuses Maintenance.

Once again, the Process Name and other values must be keyed as illustrated:

2.5 Repair Charges

Go to Master Data \ Finance \ Charge Codes:

New charge codes for repairs must be set up as appropriate. The value below is for illustration note though that any charge codes set up for use in the Repairs screen must have the Repair Flag
check box ticked:

3. USING THE REPAIR SCREEN


3.1 Creating records

Go to Equipment \ Maintenance & Repair \ Container Maintenance & Repair:

The screen opens in query mode to allow an existing repair record to be retrieved and updated.

Press [F4] to cancel query mode. The blue bar across the top of the screen will disappear

Enter a container number in Container. The Size/Type and Current Status details will be
pulled in:

Key an appropriate value in Order Number (free text field, maximum length 20 characters)

3.1.1 Creating a Survey record

Key a Partner code in Surveyor (pressing [Ctrl] + [L] opens the Partner Locator)

Key an appropriate value in Survey Reference (free text field, maximum length 20
characters)

Key an appropriate value in CIRI Reference (free text field, maximum length 20 characters)

Key the date and time in Survey Reference. This must be later (by as little as one minute)
than the current container status, or a warning message will be displayed:

Once a valid date and time have been keyed, the [Confirm Survey] button will be enabled.
Press this, and respond 'Yes' to the message 'Are you sure that you want to confirm these
records?'. The [Confirm Survey] button will now be disabled

Press [Repair History] to see the new repair history entry. This will open CLS2101, repair
History (note that this screen can also be accessed as a standalone from the Equipment \
Maintenance & Repair Folder):

Close this screen by clicking on the Exit Door button on the button bar. CLS2100 will again
be displayed

3.1.2 Creating a Repair record

Key an appropriate vale in Damage Type, or select a value from the LoV

Key an appropriate value in Damage Position, or select a value from the LoV

Key a value in Cedex Code (free text field, maximum length four characters)

Key an appropriate value in Repair Type, or select a value from the LoV

Select 'Yes' or 'No' from the Authorised field drop-down

Key a Partner code in Repairer, or select from the Partner Locator

Key a Partner code in Responsible Party, or select from the Partner Locator

Key any comments in Remarks (free text field, maximum length 35 characters)

Press [Charges]. This will open the Charges sub-screen:

Key a value in Charge Code, or select from the LoV

Key a numeric value in Qty./Hours

Key a numeric value in Rate

The Amount fields will be calculated as Qty./Amount x Rate. The currency defaults in as ISK,
Icelandic Krona.

The Currency field may be overwritten with another value such as USD, in which case the value in
Est. Amount will be re-calculated at the conversion rate set up in PFS1025, Departments:

Add other charges in the subsequent lines, if required, then click on [Back]. The total will
now be displayed in Estimated Amount. The Actual Cost and Currency fields are now
activated so that these values can be keyed when known

Additional lines may be keyed in the Repair Details panel, if necessary

Key a date and time (later than the Survey) in Repair Start Date/Time

Once a valid date and time have been keyed, the [Start Repair] button will be enabled.
Press this and confirm at the prompt. An MRP status will be created in Repair History and
in PFS0051, Container Tracking History:

In CLS2100, press [Repair History] again to open CLS2101. Now that the container is at
MRP status, the Repair Details button is activated (it is only activated when the MRP line is
highlighted). Press this button to open the Repair Details sub-screen, which will display the
details keyed earlier:

Press [Charge]. This will open a further sub-screen, listing the charges keyed earlier
against the repair detail:

Press [Back] to close each sub-screen in turn, then the Exit Door button, to return to
CLS2100. Alternatively, pressing the Exit Door while sub-screen(s) are open will
immediately return the user to CLS2100

3.1.3 Creating sub-statuses


The container number is displayed against an orange background to indicate that the container is
now under repair. The [Start Repair] button is again disabled.
The sub-status fields are now activated in CLS2100.

Key an appropriate value in sub-status, or select from the LoV

Key a date and time (later than the MRP) in Sub-status Date/Time

Press [Confirm Sub Status] and confirm at the prompt

A new record will now be added to the Repair History:

Note the column Sub Status to the right of column Statuses.


[Repair Details] is disabled until the user highlights the MRP line.
Other new sub-statuses may be added in CLS2100 as described above (each must be later than
the previous one).

If sub-status ATL (Actual Total Loss) is created, the Repair History will display this; an MAL (empty
Actual Loss) status will also be automatically created one minute later:

The MAL status will also be recorded in the Container Tracking History.

If sub-status CTL (Constructive Total Loss) is keyed, this will be displayed in the Repair History,
with an MCL (Empty Constructive Total Loss) status automatically created one minute later. The
MCL status will also be recorded in the Container Tracking History.

3.1.4 Completing a repair


If neither sub-status ATL nor CTL has been created, the container repairs will in due course be
completed. Sub-status AV must then be keyed. Once this has been added to the Repair History,
the Repair Completed Date /Time fields will be activated in CLS2100.

Key a date/time later than the most recent sub-status. The [End Repair] button will be
enabled. Press this and confirm

A new status CRP will be created in the Repair History.


An additional status will be created one minute later in the Repair History. This will be the status
that the container was at before the repair was started; if the latter was an ONH (On-Hire), the
container will be updated with an MEA (Empty Available):

This will also be recorded in the Container Tracking History:

When statuses MAL, MCL or CRP are created, the container number is no longer displayed
against an orange background, as it is no longer in repair. The [End Repair] button is again
disabled.

3.2 Deleting records


This is a typical container Repair History:

If the user tries to delete the last record, status MCL, by clicking on the X button on the button tool
bar, he will get the following warning message:

The user must therefore delete the MCL in PFS0055, Resource Tracking Modification:

Having successfully deleted the MCL status here, he next tries to delete the status MRP. He gets
the following message:

Going back to Repair History again, he must delete the CTL, RP and WO sub-statuses (in that
order, i.e., most recent first). If he tries to delete, say, the WO first, he will get the following
