Future projection for International Business:

From studying the evolution and diversification of Orion Group, we can see that although this
conglomerate currently does some international trading, but they are currently not involved in
any international business. Most of their businesses are in the local market of Bangladesh. The
types of business Orion Group is involved has a very low possibility to require to set up
production facility abroad. Moreover, the target market of Orion Group is not saturated yet.
Orion Group has to acquire more knowledge in terms of operating business on the basis of
decentralization. Because it is very important to have in depth knowledge before going
international.
Till now, we dont see any projection from Orion Group to start international business. By the
nature of their business, most of their services will not need international operation. But as stated
earlier, this group can be benefited largely by operating internationally for its technology
intensive products. They can operate more efficiently and can target the international market
better by an appropriate internal business strategy. This will reduce their cost and increase sales
highly.

Future projection of the Company:

From studying the evaluation and diversification of Summit group, we have find out they are not
involved in any kind of international business. We they are mainly power generated company in
the Bangladesh but some of case they are working with joint venture with international company
like (Chinese and American as well as Indian) for their support of existing plant. If they are get
opportunity in the international market to produce power in that case they will consider but not
sure specially for small plant in the SRAC region country like Nepal, Bhutan said by company
secretary Mahmud Hasan, Secretary of Summit group. Not only power side they are involving in
another side business for their business growth like in servicing sector but not in international
aspects.
Still now, there is no possibility on behalf of Summit group to operate the business in
international country. So, in context of international business operation, there is no future plan to
operate business in the foreign country of summit group at present time.

Yes, tomorrow we shall have a golden Bengal.

From the above statement of Summit group, they are more aggressive to enhance their business
locally not internationally.

30 | P a g e

Conclusions
Its our finding that both the companies ORION and SUMMIT group has no intention to go
global or international business in close future. They have demand pressure in the local market
and international export. They need to more expansion and grab newer opportunity in local
business as well as exported items. Both companies are highly diversified.
