EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

Texas Instruments, Stafford, Texas 1997 - 2009

Design Engineer (2002 - 2009)
Worked internally with the Design and Production staff and externally with customers to ensure the quality and
performance levels of semi-conductor devices produced in the US and the Philippines. Expert in testing,
identifying and troubleshooting miscorrelated results of specific and unique customer use conditions
• Designed and validated analog/digital integrated circuitry for real time digital signal processors and
micro-controller systems generating $300 million annually
• Provided savings in excess of $2 million by resolving high visibility, high volume quality related issues
using NI LabView to analyze embedded systems
• Achieved savings of $200K by avoiding a license fee and by creating and releasing a suite of production
test that emulated a real time micro-controller and DSP system
• Determined root cause of defects in ARM7 processors and DSPs improving quality from 2000 DPPM to
5 DPPM
• Increased failure analysis success 80% by automatically collecting and analyzing data more accurately
using NI LabView allowing for efficient disposition of issues
• Instituted a 75% reduction in the size, weight and cost of a test apparatus used to analyze and isolate
defects and bugs on ARM7 based micro-controllers
• Instrumental in staffing an NI LabView-based analysis and testing lab of 15 engineers, technicians and
analysts
• Sponsored the customer return testing methodology and strategy for the next generation of ARM based
processors

Applications Engineer (1998 - 2002)

Developed test procedures to verify, validate, and confirm that the features of the designed device match the design
specifications. Documented the test results and produced application guides and data sheets. Assessed and
presented design, application and service information to secure business with clients. Validated and integrated
complex embedded solutions into end equipment environments resulting in bug free production launches.
Facilitated weekly meetings to ensure all electrical and technical professionals and designers are working to the
same plan and aware of respective assignments.

Texas Instruments, Applications Engineer (continued)

• Interpreted designs, developed specifications and supported solution development for ARM7- based
processors generating $40 million annually
• Supported engineering staff and 3 of the largest automotive electronics suppliers throughout North
America, South America, Asia and Europe
• Conducted characterization tests in ASM and C/C++ of digital and analog circuitry to identify product
margins and potential application problems
• Designed development PCBs for ARM7 processors to validate the following peripherals (I2C, UART,
SCI, ADC, SPI, CAN, RAM, Embedded memory) and I/O
• Prepared electrical design criteria and engineering change orders for assigned projects to improve
design schedule

Product Engineer (1997 - 1998)

Conducted performance tests on semiconductor devices for PC memory. Collaborated with design and
manufacturing to implement corrective actions to satisfy client requirements. Provided support to quality assurance
and assembly testing for internal part qualification of new components.
• Developed a business plan to support a 60-product portfolio
• Tested dual in-line memory modules (DIMM) for key PC manufacturers with combined value of $2
million annually
• Wrote and provided data sheets and application notes for Apple, Acer, Dell, Toshiba and Compaq
computers
• Supported clients in technical applications and samples of new modules
• Defined product test conditions to ensure the module meets specification and customer requirements
• Developed technical documents such as product data sheets and application notes

DELCO Electronics, Kokomo, Indiana 1995 - 1996

Advanced Development Engineering, Co-Op Student
Assigned to three different internships; PCB layout for a DELCO automobile radio; test automation to monitor the
voltage on the EV1 (electric vehicle) prototype project; and a software project to analyze a design database.
• Developed software to detect improper RAM usage in memory controllers
• Assisted with software improvement activities to address project delays
• Designed a software interface to test anti-lock brake systems
