Shop‹ From the Shepherd’s Shop‹
by Pastor Keith Felton God has blessed our family of faith with a wonderful new family, RANDY and ANDREA NEWBY. They have a baby girl named ELIZABETH who has been frequenting the FBC nursery. What a joy it is to add to our team that advances the Good News of Jesus to our community of Hamilton and beyond. I pray you will join with me in helping this family in getting further assimilated into our mission here at First Baptist. My prayer for Easter at FBC is that each of us will invite ONE person to join us for worship on Sunday morning. I am a firm believer in the power of the resurrection and that it still rings true for all persons today. I believe that lost people can be saved and that those in despair can find hope in hearing the story of Easter. We have this great opportunity to reach out to someone who needs Jesus and to hear how each person who calls on the name of the Lord can be saved and live resurrected lives! Who will you bring with you to hear of the hope of God conquering death so that we may have eternal life?

Life of the Church Friday, April 2 Good Friday Service 6:30 pm

9:45 am 11:00 am 11:00 am 5:30 pm 5:15 pm 6:00 pm 6:00 pm 6:00 pm 7:00 pm 9:00 am 8:00 pm The Easter season has always been my favorite time of the church year and this year is no different. I love turning my focus to the Cross and focusing upon the sacrifice made by our Lord and Savior. I also love singing together the songs of our faith that usually only appear at Easter. How many times have you sang the powerful words, “Up from the grave He arose, With a mighty triumph o’er His foes!” or “He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today! He walks with me and talks with me along life’s narrow way.”? This Sunday as we come to worship we will sing these great hymns of the past alongside a new hymn, Jesus is Lord, which we sang together last Sunday. Let me print the text here so that you can think about it and prepare your minds to sing it this Easter Sunday morning. Jesus Is Lord The cry that echoes through creation Resplendent pow'r eternal Word our Rock The Son of God The King whose glory fills the heavens Yet bids us come to taste this living bread Jesus is Lord Whose voice sustains the stars and planets Yet in His wisdom laid aside His crown Jesus the man who washed our feet Who bore our suffering Became a curse to bring salvation's plan Jesus is Lord The tomb is gloriously empty Not even death could crush this King of love The price is paid the chains are loosed And we're forgiven And we can run into the arms of God

Good Friday Service April 2, 2010 6:30 P.M.

I could write pages about the theology that this hymn speaks to us but time and space prevent me from doing so here. I pray that you will let the text of this hymn permeate your life from now until Sunday morning when we celebrate the empty tomb! Let us sing with passion and understanding this Easter as never before! Soli Deo Gloria
