Renewed Relationship with God
“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to the fellowship, and to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42) During the month of February, we wrapped up our Core series with lessons on the core values of the family, of worship, and of loving our city. We delved into Ephesians chapters 5:22-6:4 as Matt painted a clear picture of God’s design for our families. We learned that the way we relate to one another—as husbands and wives and as parents and children—is meant to be a reflection of the way we love, honor, respect, treasure, and submit to God. We examined Romans 12:1-2 as Matt challenged us to search ourselves and identify the idols in our lives, so that we may sift them out and “present our bodies as a living sacrifice.” We learned that sin is, fundamentally, disordered worship and that, to worship well, we must intentionally turn our eyes upon Jesus and away from the world. We explored Jeremiah 29:4-9 as Toby urged us to follow God’s decree to “seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you…and pray to the Lord on its behalf.” Toby spurred us to love our community well, to serve them, and to beware of the pitfalls of this world. In March, we will begin our Exchange series where we plan to cover the entire storyline of the Bible; focusing specifically on Creation, the Fall, and our Redemption. We are ending the month of February with a visit to our sponsor church, Kingdom Life Christian Center. We are so excited to have an opportunity to worship together with our brothers and sisters!

March begins a phase of major transition for Renewal Church. As you know, we have been praying diligently for God to provide us a location to call home—a place where we can stretch our wings, so to speak. God has heard our prayers and He has proven faithful in not only providing a building, but providing it in the exact location that we were praying about! March 21st marks the official launch date of Renewal Church to her surrounding community. We will be meeting at 10am at the Hilton Garden Inn at the intersection of Woodruff Road and I-85. We invite you to come and share in this incredible blessing! God is so good!

How to Give
“Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.” Acts 2:45 www.renewalupstate.com

Renewed Relationships With Each Other
“Everyday they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” Acts 2:46 February allowed us, as a staff, to spend a day together to connect and bond. We work together everyday, but don’t have much time to spend together outside of doing ministry. This trip allowed spouses as well as staff to continue developing their relationships while having fun together in Asheville, N.C.

You’re Invited!
We would love to have you join us on March 21st at 10 a.m. to love and support us as we launch in our new location! If you’re interested in coming, but have questions or would like to serve in some capacity that Sunday, please let us know by emailing us at church@renewalupstate.com.

Renewed Love for Those Far From God
“...And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:47  Once again we have been blessed to see God’s hand move as we get to be a part of His great work. Mission is a sending out to spread the Gospel to a world that needs the love of Christ. What an awesome opportunity Renewal has to be a part of the following missional opportunities during the month of March. On March 7th, we will have the privilege of serving the staff of the Hilton Garden Inn. The Hilton is the location where God has led us to join in worship together on a weekly basis. We have the wonderful privilege to bless those who work at this facility. The body will meet at Rocky Creek Baptist at 10:45am to assemble the gifts. After presenting our gifts to the hotel staff, we will proceed as a body to the apartment complex across the street to prayer walk, and then go to Cracker Barrel right beside the hotel to share gifts with the employees and enjoy lunch together as a body. Please be in prayer for us as we impact those that God has sovereignly placed around us. On March 20th, we invite all those who can come to prayer walk and help clean the grounds of the Hilton. We will meet at the hotel at 10am and will be there until 12 noon. This is a great opportunity to serve the day before we launch as a body of believers. March 7th-12th, the staff, college students, and other members of Renewal will be leaving to travel to Washington, D.C. to work with Restoration Church, a church plant. Please be in prayer for this team as they travel and join God in His work in the D.C. area.

Children’s space and weekly staff meeting room

Left to Right: Carl & Brooke Boyer, Matt & Sarah Rogers, Toby & Julieann Dix, Bailey Pearson, Stephen & Christina Rutland, J.B. & Rachelle Usher Words cannot express how excited we are about God’s provision of a building that meets our needs for the next 6 months. Here are a few reasons we believe this is God’s provision for us: • In the hotel we have a built-in opportunity to model Christilikeness to those far from Him as we seek to love the hotel staff and employees.  • The hotel is located in the center of the Millennium Campus/I.C.A.R. area where we have been praying about planting a church • The hotel is located in a heavily trafficked area and will be easy to communicate to people in our city • The seating capacity will allow us to hold over 200 people in a single service • This gives us a place separate from another church's property to allow us to establish our own identity as a church. • The terms of the agreement are only for six months, allowing us a temporary place to launch the church without locking us into a long term lease • The conference rooms will allow us to have a large group meeting room, nursery, preschool, and children's area • The cost of these spaces was significantly less than our other leased space options and will be a rate that our young core group can afford at this point in our journey without taking on any indebtedness • We will not have to spend any money on upfitting the facility because it is brand new.  We will simply load in sound and children's equipment each week and we are ready to roll. • The space is ours from 7am to 2pm every Sunday for the next six months Large group meeting room
