Organizational Chart

Provides an intuitive way for HR professionals, managers and

employees to navigate through the organization, understand
department structure and reporting relationships. Drilldown
capabilities enable users to learn more about individuals
within the organization.

Effective-Dated Transactions

Process future-dated and /or retroactive HR transactions, re

port using effective dates and predefined periods in time, and
provide effective-dated transactions with full history for em
ployee records and valid table values.

Employee Self-Service

Employees can update information and run actions such as

advances and deductions. They can update personal data (ad
dress, name, emergency contacts, marital status, interests,
career interests, etc.) update bank information, and access
preintegrated payroll and benefits portals to make or change
benefit elections, contributions and tax withholdings.

Key Features


Manager Self-Service

Managers can access employee information for which they

have security rights. View personal information, employment
history, salary history, training history, performance history,
education information, professional awards, languages, profi
ciencies, external work history, and more. An intuitive inter
face allows managers to initiate and execute many types of
changes for anyone on their team: promotion, relocation, ter
mination, bonus, salary change, etc.

Workflow Automation

Automate workflow and track a transaction through its lifecy

cle from inception to execution, including approvals, routing
and historical tracking. Create and manage as many levels of
approvals as needed for selected transactions.


Automated notifications of status changes, compliance, new

hires, terminations, etc., for HR professionals, managers and
employees for which they have security rights

Mass Changes

Change job information and/or job relationships for any userdefined selection of employees to efficiently execute organiza
tional changes or manager reassignments affecting large
numbers of employees.

Position-Driven Succession Management

Relationship between incumbents and successors is estab

lished through a position hierarchy that supports planning for
succession of a vacant position as well as nominating a To Be
Hired person as a successor to an incumbent.*

Position-Driven Recruiting

A job requisition may be initiated from the position organiza

tion chart. Customer configurable rules use position data to
determine the appropriate requisition approvals and applica
tion processes. At the end of the recruiting process, Recruit
ing Management sends the job, application and offer data into

Holiday Calendar and Work Schedules

Define the days and times your employees will work.

Absence Management

Allow your employees to request different types of absences

by using their mobile device or desktop. Define time types for
absences such as vacation and sick leave, but also for longterm absences such as maternity leave, which might cause an
employee status change. Implement validation rules to carry
out specific checks while absence requests are being entered
by the employee. Use custom fields if additional information
should be entered as part of an absence request.

Time Accounts

Track absences against balances on time accounts. Create

new entitlements or regular accruals based on rules for time
accounts and make them available to employees. Define pe
riod end processing rules to close time accounts and carry
over balances. Enable HR Administrators to view employee
time account balances to make changes or request absences
on behalf of others.


Approve or decline absence requests. Use alerts and notifica

tions to inform an employee if somebody has entered an ab
sence request on their behalf.

Time Recording

Allows employees to record their working time or any other at

tendance time. Create your own time types, such as working
time, administration, or travel time, to differentiate among
various attendance types.

Overtime Calculation

Define flexible daily or weekly overtime calculation rules. Set

up overtime thresholds (for example, 10 hours per day), or
sum of planned times per week. Choose which absence types
shall be incorporated into the overtime calculation and which
will not. Define if public holidays shall be incorporated or not.

Pay Type Generation

Set up rules to generate pay types for base hours, paid absen
ces, public holidays, and overtime hours.

Cost Center allocation

Allow your employees to record times to different cost cen

ters. For all pay types that are generated based on this time
recording (base pay, overtime pay, etc.), a cost center split is


Approval workflows can be configured for time sheets. If an

approval workflow is set up, approvers can approve or decline
the time sheet.


Standard reports allow reporting on hours recorded, unap

proved timesheets, and generated pay types.

Includes audit tracking and reporting to support audit stand

View audit trails of current changes being made in a compre

hensive report, including when data is updated as a result of
interface/integration with another application.

Prepackaged SAP ERP Integrations

SAP develops, supports, and maintains prebuilt, configurable

end-to-end integration processes for SAP ERP HCM and SAP
ERP FIN. These integrations comprise add-ons for SAP ERP
and middleware content for Dell Boomi (operated by SAP).
Some effort may be required to tailor the processes of a spe

Prepackaged Templates

Template connectors for 3rd party benefits, time, payroll, fi

nance, and travel, applications. Encapsulates HR-XML stand
ards and best practice knowledge of integration patterns in
each of these categories. Helps expedite implementation and
saves time and money for customers. Prepackaged template
integrations are maintained by the customer.

maintained by the customer.

Metadata Framework

Create custom objects and functionality in SAP SuccessFac

tors Employee Central as required. Define objects, fields, be
havior, and the look and feel of the application through a webbased user interface, without coding. Create business rules to
implement custom logic.

SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central customers seeking control of a managing their payroll with the flexibility of
a cloud solution can now have both through SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll. Leverage the expertise
from SAPs leading global payroll engine to handle complex payroll processes, help ensure compliance, and
address considerations like collective bargaining agreements and reporting. SuccessFactors Employee Central
Payroll is a cloud solution that integrates with payroll BPO services such as ADP and NorthgateArinso. It is
currently localized to support 30 countries.

Receive Employee Time, Commission, and Expense Data

Provides key inputs to calculate gross pay that vary by payroll

Gross pay is calculated based on the number of hours worked,

pay rate, and other inputs such as commission, overtime pay
and other one-time payments and overrides.

Received Deductions

Benefits and other vendors provide the deductions to be

made from the employee's gross pay.

Collect and Process Garnishments

Record any court-ordered deductions.

Calculate Net Pay

Calculate the net amount that employees will receive after de

ducting tax, other deductions and garnishments.

Process Checks and Bank Transfers

After net pay is calculated, checks are printed and mailed, or

the amount deposited in the employee's bank account.

Off-Cycle Pay Processing

Allows for special one-time pay processes, such as bonus pay

ments and termination payouts.

After the conclusion of a payroll run, the results can be trans

ferred and posted to the applicable customer financial sys

Taxes, other deductions and garnishments may be remitted

to the recipients within the specified time.

Year-End Processing

Generate documents that are provided to employees as well

as regulatory authorities at the end of the year.
