Urban Soccer proposes a 72,000 square foot, multi-field, indoor soccer complex situated next to
Industry City in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Located at 9 29th street, the facility will house 12 indoor soccer
fields, designed for five on five games, which are fast becoming a popular style of soccer throughout
the country. Major League Soccer has given their support for the project, which would be the first of its
kind in the United States.
The project is proposed for a warehouse that had been previously used for food and wine storage and
distribution, but has been vacant for months. No industrial use was conducted at the site for the last
sixteen years. The project requires no new zoning and has a "Use Group 12" approval from the
Department of Buildings.

NYC EDCs South Brooklyn Marine Terminal (SBMT) is located nearby. However, the addition of
Urban Soccer to Sunset Park would in no way interfere with that plan. In fact, we believe it will
complement the industrial revitalization of the area.

Industry City is a 6-million square foot collection of

warehouse structures situated on the waterfront in
Sunset Park, Brooklyn, that is quickly becoming a
dynamic destination for designers, innovators,
start-ups, manufacturers and artists. Current
tenants include the Brooklyn Nets, Makerbot 3D
Printing and Design Within Reach. As Industry City
evolves and more companies become tenants,
additional amenities such as retail and recreation
facilities, like Urban Soccer will be in high demand
to cater to the growing workforce.

With over 13 million Americans playing soccer in the United States, soccer is the third most played
team sport in the U.S. The recent World Cup win by the U.S. Womens team energized New Yorkers
and soccer fans throughout the world.

Facilities like Urban Soccer improve our physical and psychological health, strengthen our communities, and make our cities and neighborhoods more attractive places to live and work. In fact,
Urban Soccer envisions partnerships with local businesses and residents to make use of its unique
and accessible recreational facilities.

Urban Soccer will positively contribute to the City of New York by repurposing a vacant warehouse
into a vibrant, local, revenue-generating business.

Recreation centers like Urban Soccer also produce important social and community development
benefits. They help make inner-city neighborhoods more livable; offer recreational opportunities for
at-risk youth, low-income children, and low-income families; and provide places in low-income
neighborhoods where people can feel a sense of community. Access to such facilities has been
strongly linked to reductions in crime and in particular to reduced juvenile delinquency. Urban
Soccer plans to work closely with community organizations.

Urban Soccer will design and develop its facility to be fully ADA compliant, greatly improving
access to the facility to people with disabilities.

Dedicated to the community, Urban Soccer strives to partner with local schools, support and sponsor community events, and serve as the flagship location for Urban Soccers youth development
platform. A report recently issued by the City Comptroller found that 435 city schools lacked gyms
or dedicated physical fitness space. Urban Soccer can help fill this void in Sunset Park.

Urban Soccer has the support and backing of Major League Soccer team the New York Red Bulls,
as well as the St. Johns University Soccer Team.
