śrī-bhagavān uvāca
idaṁ tu te guhyatamaṁ
pravakṣyāmy anasūyave
jñānaṁ vijñāna-sahitaṁ
yaj jñātvā mokṣyase 'śubhāt

Śrī-bhagavān uvāca. Now
we
will
explain.
So śrībhagavān uvāca. Bhagavān, this word, I have explained many
times. Bhagavān means the supreme authority. So far authoritative
power is concerned, that is analyzed by Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī. Cent
percent
power
or
cent
percent
qualification
is
in Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇas tu bhagavānsvayam [SB 1.3.28]. There is... This is
called saviśeṣa, personal analysis, not that ...Even somebody is
sometimes addressed as Bhagavān, that does not mean he is also equal
to the Supreme Person. Just like sometimes Nārada Muni is also
addressed as Bhagavān. Lord Śiva is also addressed as Bhagavān, not
only viṣṇu-tattva, but also others. Sometimes they are addressed
as Bhagavān.
But in order to particularly point out Kṛṣṇa, it has been said in
the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam. Kṛṣṇa...
Actually, Bhagavān is Kṛṣṇabecause He has got cent percent qualities
of Bhagavān. That is analyzed inCaitanya-caritāmṛta. He is cent
percent Bhagavān. Others, they are alsoBhagavān, viṣṇutattva, Nārāyaṇa, He is also Bhagavān. But Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī has
analyzed; He is 94%, not cent percent. Or, in other words, you can take
it thatṣaḍ-aiśvarya pūrṇaḥ, that is Kṛṣṇa. And They are also ṣaḍaiśvarya, but it is not displayed. Not that... Just like Lord Rāmacandra.
Lord Rāmacandra... Madhvahas approved, He, also Bhagavān. Rāmādimūrtiṣu kalā-niyamena tiṣṭhan [Bs. 5.39]. Lord Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme
Personality of Godhead, is existing as the Supreme Person along
with Rāma, Nṛsiṁha, Varāha, many thousands ofavatāras. They are
also Kṛṣṇa. Keśava dhṛta-rāma-śarīra jaya jagadīśa hare.Keśava dhṛtamīna-śarīra jaya jagadīśa hare. So Keśava, Kṛṣṇa, He is existing with all
the incarnation, not that He is existing as Kṛṣṇa. So when we speak
ofKṛṣṇa, we take it that all His expansion and incarnation.

Guhya means confidential.that is guhya. Brahma-bhūtaḥ. "they are partial expansion and expansion of the expansion or expansion of His power.. Brahman. To become brahmabhūtaḥ." rāmādi-mūrtiṣu kalā-niyamenatiṣṭhan [Bs. "Now I am giving you this knowledge." Just (take) Lord Buddha. So we are pledged to receive knowledge from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The Māyāvādīs say there is no difference between ātmā and Paramātmā. But the real original Personality of Godhead is Kṛṣṇa." Guhyatamam. superlative. So this brahma-jñāna.Therefore it is said rāmādi-mūrtiṣu kalā. That is our mission. śaktyāveśa-avatāra. That is Paramātmā. Vyāsadeva is writing śrī bhagavān uvāca. is fully expressed in Kṛṣṇa. the authority ofBhagavān.39]. Paramātmā means He is present everywhere. There are two different souls.. But kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam means bhagavatva. it is summarized that ete cāṁśakalāḥ puṁsaḥ kṛṣṇas tu bhagavān svayam: [SB1.Brāhmaṇa. He is śaktyāveśaavatāra. And brahmeti paramātmeti. Therefore Bhagavadgītā is being spoken by Kṛṣṇa. Guhya is positive. So they are alsoBhagavān. 5. He does not say. Comparative. Kṛṣṇa consciousness. They are kalā. So that isguhya. is guhya.. And guhyatamam. After making the list of different incarnation. Guhyatara is comparative. not in others. One is. Guhya means confidential and guhyatama. Kalā means partial expansion. Many śaktyāveśa-avatāra.. immediately you become the most important person within this material world. But in order to distinguish Him. Positive. Here is knowledge given by Kṛṣṇa. comparative and superlative.Idaṁ tu te guhyatamaṁ pravakṣyāmy anasūyave. but that is not the . very confidential knowledge. And brahmabhūtaḥ means above brāhmaṇa or brāhmaṇa.So in this way Kṛṣṇa is always existing along with His expansion and incarnation. not full expansion.28].. 18.61].3.. brahma-jñānī. Full expansion means pūrṇa. more confidential.

Apaśyata. he purchases huge volumes of newspaper. Nobody understands even ātma-tattva. They have made it vow. It is above ordinary knowledge. śrotavyādīni rājendra nṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ apaśyatām ātma-tattvaṁ gṛheṣu gṛha-medhinām [SB 2. but I am not Paramātmā. They are not interested.Asmin dehe. and he is interested.1. Therefore Śukadeva Gosvāmī said to ParīkṣitMahārāja śrotavyādi.2] Gṛheṣu gṛha-medhinām. [SB 2. to maintain the family and to have some enjoyment from family life.Śukadeva Gosvāmī is advising to Parīkṣit Mahārāja that "There are many things. to understand brahma-jñāna. But he is not interested to understandBhagavad-gītā where ātma-tattvam is described. They are busy. or the Supreme Personality of Godhead. friendship and love. musical and cinema and ordinary news and so many editions of every newspaper in every city. Why you are forget? Gṛheṣu gṛha-medhinām.fact. suta-mitā-ramaṇi-samāje.1. Why they are busy with so many newspapers. Dehino 'smin yathā dehe [Bg. they cannot understand what is ātmatattva." Apaśyatām.2]. or self-realization.Paramātmā is different thing. So that is guhyataram. Therefore it is saidguhya. worldly man. That is not ordinary knowledge. subject matter for hearing. you are ātmā. Ātmā means present within this body.2. and why they are not interested in hearing Bhagavad-gītā and ŚrīmadBhāgavatam? Becauseapaśyatām ātma-tattvam. That (is) Vidyāpati's song. Paramātmā is Kṛṣṇa.2] "They do not know that the real purpose of life is to understand ātmatattva. Śrotavyādīni rājendranṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ [SB 2.13]." Just like ordinary man. Sahasraś aḥ means thousands and thousands and thousands. situated in everyone's heart. Those who are living within the family life. I am ātmā.13]. Nṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ: "For ordinary man there are thousands and thousands of news. 2." We can see so many magazines— technical. I am ātmā. Dehino 'smin yathā dehe [Bg. that is very confidential. Ātma-tattvam. you are ātmā. that. What is that? Can you remember? Tatala seikatevari-bindu-sama. First of all. Nṛṇāṁ santi sahasraśaḥ. Suta-mitā-ramaṇi- . Family life means society. Guhya means very confidential.1. in this body. So this is a fact. Apaśyatām.

Similarly. That is not possible. That is. Kṛṣṇa is speaking . It will never satisfy you. The other day we had been guest in Hyderabad. "All right. practically. that is also very nice. You have seen desert. in this material world.. friends. so-called happiness. we are spirit soul.2]." Everyone is busy—society. And what happiness we shall get with this society. Everyone is. Arabian desert. children." then what is the meaning? It has no meaning. that it is just like tatala seikate vari-bindusama. if we say that "We want water. temporary happiness. suta-mitāramaṇi-samāje. nation. So if we are put into this desert. mitā means friends. Nowadays. family. we are. Similarly. There is no sufficient supply of water. They are busy. They are satisfied with this drop of water in the desert. That is our inner desire. we are trying to be happy in the society.. So they are busy. Why? There is want of water. So you see in Vṛndāvana so much land lying vacant. Desert is very vast tract of land dry. transcendental bliss. If they are beautiful woman. it will be very insignificant. Suta-mitāramaṇi-samāje. then gradually these places will be converted into desert. take one drop of water. So in this way. And what is the composition? Now. country.(?) The exact English equivalent is "society. Our heart is desiring real pleasure. He is very busy with this suta-mitā-ramaṇisamāje. "Unless there is happiness. Desert means it requires huge quantities of water.. Actually we are trying to get because we are eternal. Converted into desert. friendship and love. So that happiness is compared byVidyāpati. suta-mitā-ramaṇi-samāje. and ramaṇi.samāje. So somebody can say. no agriculture. especially in India. So the "desert" word is used because it requires huge quantity of water. friendship and love. suta. friendship or love? This is not possible. if there is scarcity of water. why people should be interested?" There is happiness certainly. in this way.. community.1. It will never mitigate. the great Vaiṣṇava poet. But the happiness we are getting. very small quantity. where is the benefit? This song is confirmed in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam that apaśyatām ātma-tattvam [SB2. every land is just like desert for want of water. in every country. has no meaning. we are. If in the vast desert. We are trying to get eternal happiness. Everyone is busy with suta-mitā-ramaṇi-samāje. They do not know what is the aim of life.(?) Just like desert. Similarly. There is some happiness. We are hankering afterKṛṣṇa. some woman. that is compared with a drop of water in the desert." and somebody brings a drop of water and take it. and if somebody says.

Anasūyave. But the devotees are so kind. Jñānaṁ te 'haṁ savijñānaṁpravakṣyāmy anasūyave [Bg. then you are also infected with asūya..25.. nondevotees. Asūya means envious. Mathurā.. The describe. practically the whole world. bhakto 'si sakhā ceti. very merciful. just like Bhagavad-gītā was spoken to Arjuna. Kṛṣṇa never speaks..21]. Just like Kaṁsa." He recommends the bhaktas. everyone is trying to prove that "There is no God. Kṛṣṇa doesn't speak to the demons. And they take the risk of preaching amongst the demons.. ya imaṁ paramaṁ guhyaṁ madbhakteṣuabhidhāsyati." This is. Unless you are one who is bhakta." This is the position of a bhakta.. or in favor of them. But the devotees. In this tract of land. they want to be godless. Kṛṣṇa has rejected them. Let me try. tṛṇād apisunīcena taror api sahiṣṇunā. They (the demons) are prepared to torture even Kṛṣṇa. Envious. And Caitanya Mahāprabhu also teaches. they go to the demons and pray. They are not only unenvious to God.. So they (the devotees) tolerate all these tortures. So at the present moment. please bring the child. There is no Kṛṣṇa." This is asūya. kāruṇikāḥ.. Therefore the devotees are described as titikṣavaḥ.Devotees are always tortured by the demons. Kāruṇikāḥ. because they arekāruṇikāḥ. 7. About Bhagavad-gītā He says.. "One who speaks this confidential knowledge amongst the bhaktas.here. But the devotees are very lenient. more merciful than Kṛṣṇa. . the Supreme Personality of Godhead. they are so merciful. Communist. This is all sentiment. But the devotees. transgressing the order ofKṛṣṇa because they are so merciful: "All right. Therefore their name is kāruṇikāḥ. Kindly hear about Kṛṣṇa. What is that? Titikṣavaḥ kāruṇikāḥ suhṛdaḥ sarvabhūtānām [SB 3. Then you cannot understand. Kṛṣṇa is very strict.2]. So if you become demon. More merciful than Kṛṣṇa. they go to the abhakta. there was Kaṁsa. The scientists and the. Everyone is envious of Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa was very strict.. envious of Kṛṣṇa. Let me try. Therefore a devotee is more merciful than Kṛṣṇa. most merciful. but they are also unenvious... A devotee should learn this śloka of Śrī CaitanyaMahāprabhu that he should be tolerant more than the trees. I shall kill Him. That is demon. "Kindly hear. He was so envious that he ordered to his servant that "As soon as Kṛṣṇa is born. and great devotees also..Kṛṣṇa doesn't want to speak even with demons. Kṛṣṇa has said. Then you cannot understand." Especially in the Communist countries.

. That is. I am envious to the devotees.. They are envious. "But why shall I go throughguru or through Vaiṣṇava to Kṛṣṇa? I can go directly. Because there is envy against God. who is not envious of Kṛṣṇa. They cannot understand because Kṛṣṇa does not disclose Himself to the nondevotees. to the anasūyave.66].this very word. Who will accept unless he is devotee? The Māyāvādī. is never disclosed or revealed amongst the nondevotees demons. First of all." That is stated that one who is directly devotee of Kṛṣṇa. Work hard. Karmī. honar din ke ghaska (?).. and get the result and enjoy. jñānī. In Bengal it is said. So by their own attempt." no. that is not." No. And that is devotee. magic. If you think that "I will become. Madbhaktaḥ pūjyābhyadhikaḥ. The karmīs will say that "You work hard. 18. yogi they cannot accept. I am God. They cannot understand the science of Kṛṣṇa. You cannot say. Kṛṣṇa does not accept that kind of business. but I am not envious toKṛṣṇa. who does not. We should never be envious to Kṛṣṇa and his devotee. They will not surrender to Kṛṣṇa. There is grass before the horse. you are not qualified. you should be nonenvious to the devotee. This philosophy you should learn." But that is demonic. It can be revealed. reveals Himself. Why I shall surrender to Kṛṣṇa? Why shall I accept Kṛṣṇa as God?" This is the position of the bhukti-mukti-siddhi-kāmī. So such persons cannot understand Kṛṣṇa. This is their. sarvadharmān parityajya mām ekaṁśaraṇaṁ vraja [Bg.. Why you are going to the temple to pray?" This is the philosophy of the Communists. "Why should you go to the church? Why should you go to the temple? Forget all these things. Therefore you will find so many yogis.. Kṛṣṇa discloses.. jñānī. Anasūyave. they can play jugglery. One who is devotee through His devotee. they are demons. You. he is devotee. they are envious.Anasūyave means devotee. jñānaṁ te 'haṁ pravakṣyāmi. Kṛṣṇa says. no.Kṛṣṇa says. So the science of God or science of Kṛṣṇa. "If you are envious to My devotee and if you become a devotee.. kṛṣṇatattva. earn money and enjoy life. If you jump over like that. Therefore it is said anasūyave. "Don't speak this Bhagavad-gītā to the nondevotees. "I am Kṛṣṇa. however bigyogi or jñānī or karmī he may be. but they are not devotees... he is not devotee.karmī. yogi. If you think that I shall jump over the horse and .. it can be understood by a person likeArjuna. that is not. I am so qualified. he cannot understand Kṛṣṇa." because nondevotees will not accept. Others. one who is not envious.

then you should be very much humble and submissive to Kṛṣṇa and His devotee. Ninth Chapter. So I have become a devotee.2.66]. Jñāna means theoretical knowledge and vijñānameans practical knowledge. sarvadharmānparityajya mām ekaṁ śaraṇaṁ vraja [Bg. If you want to get out of this materialistic way. And yaj jñātvā. That is theoretical. you simply know that so much oxygen. how to become not envious to Kṛṣṇa. most confidential knowledge. What is that inauspicious condition of life? This materialistic life. Jñāna. nice road. This is aśubha. We must approach a bona fide guru in order to understand the science of Kṛṣṇa.. This I have explained several times. so much hydrogen produces water by mixing. examination they take examination. If you want to learn Kṛṣṇa. skyscraper building and so many machine and bodily comforts which is known as material advancement.eat the grass. If you decide to surrender—that is called śaraṇāgati—then you have to learn the science how to become surrendered. inauspicious condition of life. You have to make water by mixing these two chemicals—that is practical. So we have to do it practically.aśubha..C. Vijñāna-sahitam.. By having nice car. So anasūyave. Not only that. That is vijñāna. That is how to surrender toKṛṣṇa. Tad-vijñānārthaṁ sa gurum eva abhigacchet [MU 1. it is not sentiment. But the śāstra says it is all inauspicious. the so-called materialistic science.Abhigacchet. anasūyave. yaj jñātvā mokṣyase aśubhāt. the result is you become liberated from this aśubha. Jñānaṁ vijñāna-sahitam. this knowledge. But when you really surrender. that is practical science.12]. jñānaṁ vijñāna. savijñāna. not that "I have readBhagavadgītā and Bhāgavata. You should practically demonstrate in your life that you are actually devotee. We have to learn. This is a great science. So in the B.A. There is no śubha. the science of Kṛṣṇaconsciousness. that is not possible. So theoretical is. Jñānaṁ vijñāna-sahitam. theoretical and practical. If you learn this science. If . If you want to become free from this inauspicious kind of life.. Kṛṣṇa says. Just like in scientific knowledge you must know theoretically and practically. It is science.. all inauspicious. test. then you should learn the science whichKṛṣṇa is teaching.People are thinking. So one should be devotee first of all. "We shall make it śubha. That is calledvijñāna-sahitam." No. And that is spoken in this chapter. That is practical. not this vijñāna." Śubha means auspicious by material adjustment. You should learn the real science. 18.
