WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT FROM YOUR AUDIENCES FEEDBACK?

The feedback I gathered from my audience was particularly important for me as it
allowed me to acknowledge my strengths and weaknesses and showed me the things
that I can improve on for next time. It also presented me with a clear view of the
aspects of the short film that my audience enjoyed and what they thought could be
improved upon.
The feedback that we received was recorded by SurveyMonkey, and data from prequestionnaires and post-questionnaires. The great thing about the online prequestionnaires and post-questionnaires created using SurveyMonkey is that our
audience could easily access them by visiting our blog and fill them in. This is a great
way in gaining feedback as it saves time and resources.
Below are a set of graphs which illustrate our audiences feedback, some of these are
from our post-questionnaire asked to our target audience with a response to each of
them.

WHAT GENDER ARE YOU?

Female
50%

Male
50%

The reason why this question was important to ask our audience is because we didnt
want our feedback to be biased towards a particular gender. We wanted to obtain
equal feedback from both genders to see which gender would be most positive and
attracted to our short film.

DID YOU ENJOY TIMELESS?

Yes
100%

No
0%

As a group we were all pleased with the feedback we received from this question as
100% of the people we asked said that they did enjoy the short film. This gave us
reassurance that our short film is good as it is positive feedback. Although people may
not be able to relate to the film as a whole, they were still able to enjoy it which was
one of our aims that we were able to succeed in.

WHAT WAS THE WEAKEST

ASPECT OF OUR SHORT FILM?
Dialogue

Costumes

Sound

Actors
25%

Here we can see that most people said that they think the dialogue in the film
was the weakest aspect of our short film. This gave us an insight of what we
can do to improve our performance for next time and to spend more time on
our script to ensure it is the best it can be.

WHAT WAS THE STRONGEST ASPECT

OF OUR SHORT FILM?
Dialogue

Actors

Constum

Sound
40%

From this question we received really great positive feedback, especially for the sound
within our short film. This presented us with a clear idea that sound is one of our main
strengths and really spoke for our short film and so many of the audience enjoyed it the
most.

DO YOU THINK OUR AGE CERTIFICATION

OF PG WAS APPROPRIATE FOR THIS
FILM?
No

Yes

I was pleased with the audiences feedback on this question as it shows that the
majority of the audience agreed that having our short film as a PG was a good idea
and best suited the film. The reason for asking this question is because the certification
of this fil affected who our audience were, I think making it a PG attracted many
audiences and didnt put a limit upon who can watch it.

COULD YOU RELATE TO THE

CHARACTERS?
No

Yes

From this we learnt that 85% of our audience could relate to our characters. We were
extremely pleased with this result; this is because it means that we portrayed the
characters accurately. Also, we tackled an issue like bullying in the beginning of the
short film which is something many people go through and so people would be able to
relate to it well.

WHAT WOULD YOU RATE OUR FILM OUT

OF 5?
1
7%
5
33%

2
13%

3
20%

4
27%

Our feedback for this question shows that 60% of people would rate our short
film 4 out of 5. This is really positive feedback and showcases the success of
our film. It is also great as our feedback shows more people would rate our
film 5 stars as oppose to 1, 2 and 3 stars.

Overall, I am really pleased with all the feedback we received from our audience as
the majority of it was positive. The feedback we received also gives me as an individual
an insight on how I can improve on certain aspects of the production for next time. For
example, an improvement for next time could be to spend more time in writing
dialogue so everything makes sense and flows better. This adds quality to the short film
and allows the audience to grasp a better understanding of the narrative as a whole.
Generally, I feel happy with the feedback received as it shows that people clearly took
a liking to the short film and enjoyed watching it, this means that our audience
understood the narrative and could relate to the characters.

film

Generally, the feedback we received for our short film was really positive which

The mise-en-scene is what really attracted the audience to go and watch the
film as it made everything look realistic even though it is set in the past

The use of cinematography played out well and made everything a lot more
engaging.

EBI:

The narrative could have perhaps been strengthened if the audience got a
glimpse of Alexas life with the bullies

Certain shots could have lasted longer to give a lasting impact

The graphics like the black hole within our short film could have been better so it
is completely clear that Alexa has gone to another time.
