Call for Radio Program Proposals for YAN Radio

YAN RADIO
Youth Action Network is proud to present YAN Radio, a media
platform for community members to discuss progressive social and
cultural issues. Were looking for fresh voices to discuss a variety of
topics ranging from local to global.

YAN BACKGROUND
Youth Action Network (YAN) is a youth-driven national charity
committed to strengthening youth engagement through education,
mobilization, resource development and supporting grassroots
community efforts. YAN is committed to pioneering meaningful
leadership opportunities in the youth organizing space. Our vision is a
critically conscious society where youth and their allies are actively
engaged in working for social change in their local and global
communities.

PROGRAMS WE OFFER
Youth Action Network is dedicated to strengthening youth and
community empowerment and capacity building, providing the
tools and resources necessary for success in community
engagement. Some of the programs we offer are:

Education
Youth Action Network's educational program offers inclusive, engaging,
interactive workshops designed for youth, educators and community
leaders, covering topics that include gender, race, poverty and
inequality, community engagement, Canadian Indigenous issues,
leadership and advocacy, and environmental justice. These workshops
provide youth with the tools to engage, organize, and act in their
communities.

Propeller
Propeller services help youth and their allies turn socially conscious
ideas into action. Whether its a short-term campaign or project, longterm programming, or a social purpose business, YANs network of
mentors, peers and community experts will provide the guidance
needed for building program models, mapping out direction, creating
strategy and accessing charitable funding through our Shared
Platform.

WHO AND WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for original radio programming ideas in French and
English with dynamic individuals to host. Specifically, we are looking
for an on-going series on your topic of interest. Each show can range
from 28 minutes to an hour in length with approximately one episode
every one to two weeks. Our podcasts will be available for download
on our website and on itunes.
Were looking for creative and engaging hosts with original ideas and
unique perspectives. Is this you?

HOW TO SUBMIT:
YAN Radio invites anyone who is interested to submit a
written proposal detailing the following items:

Your name and contact information (i.e. telephone, email)

Tell us about yourself! What are your interests, hobbies, what

inspires you?

A theme, show title, and a summary and relevant details of your

proposed programs

Your target audience

3 initial episode ideas/topics

An explanation of how the main focus of programs is related to
empowerment, engagement, and the strengthening of unheard
voices on a variety of issues

In addition to the written proposal, please attach an mp3 audio

file 3-5 minutes in length including the following:

An introduction of yourself

A brief sample of your proposed program, including topics you

find interesting and important issues you would like to engage
with

Your unique, dynamic, vibrant personality!
